I was going to buy a galahad today but thinking should I wait try to get a Lance as all the top plays have one? I could get a Carnage in the mean time for beacon capping while maintaining damage. Any thoughts?

Unless you have an Ancile for the Lancelot, get a Galahad.

Unless you have an Ancile for the Lancelot, get a Galahad. Thanks I do see a lot of the top of the league do have a Ancile for the Lance but then a lot use a Thunder instead. So it doesn't seem like it is a must have.

Thunder Lancelots have a shorter lifespan than Ancile ones.

I keep swapping ancile and thunder, I enjoy both. Its all about the situation.
That said no one has regretted getting a galahad. Even if he makes few appearances at the very top he is pretty useful on the way there. Considering how long a grind it is I would go for the plasmahad in your shoes.

A Galahad is near invincible to every weapon except for midrange splash and aphids.
I currently run 2 Plasma Galahads in my hangar and they are the main hitters of my setup.

Lancelot comes last, first you need to have both the Gala and Fury, Lance isnt all that good for its price as well, without Ancile I can say even a little underpowered.

Lance should be pronounced Laaanceeee (in deep slo-mo voice) now.

Note that there is a server side update that essentially nerfs Galahads and Garies. Rockets no longer explode at target range but instead keep going until they hit something. So backpedaling with a Gary or Galahad no longer works.
Can't remember where I saw that.

Depends on how you are going to use the Carnage. If you are going to use it for thunders it could work in place of a Galahad, but is not a replacement for it. If you are going to make a midrange bot out of the Carnage then get the Galahad or at least get both.

Fact is, I would consider it more a buff than a nerf, because it is almost impossible to hit a robot that is moving perpendicular to the rocket path exactly. It would be interesting to know where you have read this.

They still explode at target range, for example I've killed quite a few galahads today in my tulu fujin (Chinese death button?) just by shooting next to them when they thought they were safe behind cover

That's what I do a lot, too. For me it was pretty much on and off, yesterday I had a Griff squarely in range even though at distance (250m) and unloaded almost a full clip of my orkans. Target was locked, but the Griff didn't take any damage. It just had jumped so it couldn't have jumped away, and it didn't feel like a lag problem because there was no abrupt change of position afterwords, just a smooth movement.
I had similar problems with fast moving garys. I often try to get them at that sweet range of about 200m where you can lead your rockets and force them to dance, but I had cases where they didn't change direction and no damage registered. Smells like a bug or a lag problem.
Oh yeah, Android.
