From the Q&A with the developers:
Pixonic wants to convince players it's "a big achievement" to face opponents with stronger hangar than you! Yyypiie!! Sure, forget fairness, that's exactly what we all want!!

It's common knowledge among F2P developers that in-game purchasing increases when players feel like they are at a disadvantage equipment-wise. Some of them pay to try to catch up. The funny part about the new MM is you will always be paired up against stronger players until you have a maxed out hangar.

It's still less of a rant than a certain other thread that has been sanctioned even though it is flame bait. Oh god how I love double standards and hypocracy.

And honestly, I've had some really good matches as of late, wherein we underdogs with shoddier 'tech are able to hose a red team full of blunderers in shiny, pimped-out rides. I watched a Tri-CRV-Tum Golem stay in most of the match and rank 3rd in damage. It usually seems to come down to how willing my teammates are to stay in and fight.

I too enjoy these battles, but not all the time. I well remember in the 'good old days' that mentally I needed to pretend mag gep seal clubbers were alien invaders anniliating the Earth Defense Forces just so I could ride out yet another massacre and try to salvage what fun I could from the match rather than just quit away. If I dropped with the seal clubbers rather than against, I would pretend I was a traitcor to my own race, a soulless mercenary. It helped sometimes. IMO, People should stop thinking of the league as a ladder and instead as a series of rooms where you are likely, LIKELY, to find other players who do similar damage with whatever gear they are running. You need to find the level, or room as it were, where the style of play fits what you enjoy the most. For me, it's a level where you can still see non-Galahad/Carnage mediums in action. Gold 1 on iOS, where I have been trapped since the leagues kicked in, is a bit too high still. But I'm slowly drifting lower. ?

The funny part about the new MM is you will always be paired up against stronger players until you have a maxed out hangar. Now you understand.

So I has a theory... Stop upgrading Seriously tho, if you don't really have an interest in climbing up the leagues, get all your equipment to the same level, then stop upgrading. I'm shooting for level 10 on my Android account, and level 9 on my iOS account. I won't get wiped out easily by 12/12 maxed hangars, and I don't have to stress about the trickle of incoming currency, premium or not, because screw getting to [all] level 12s.

If I face hangers a couple levels above me, then someone a couple levels above me must be facing lower hangers. Must not be nice to win only about half your matches against inferior equipment. I'd much rather be in my current situation. What breaks the mold are tankers who are winning lots of games against low hangars and not really participating (or even holding their devices) for the long streak of games they lose. -Amid

Yes exactly..Pick your league and gear for it...Myself I want to hang in Gold. So my hanger will reflect that. @dæmon L?l?th, your avatar is staring into my soul. Please have a word with Miss Crispy Horns about her unearthly leering at mortals. Thanks;)
