I spent some time trying to search out answers to a few questions, but I didn't find anything. I know the answers are out there, somewhere, but there are just too many posts to dig through so I apologize if they have, in fact, been answered in different threads. The updated Matchmaker never seemed to settle in for me and I was close to uninstalling when the League sorting started up. Now that I've spent a little bit with it, I have some concerns regarding my play style and how it fits in with the League. My play style revolves around a hanger of 5 level 4, medium, ag bots all armed with level 7 AG, AU, and WSP weapons. I liked it and still like it. No Griffons, Rhinos, Brit Bots or anything of the sort. Now my questions: 1-Rarely will I ever see a AG bot of any sort (Except for Griffons), and at least half of the field is patrolled by heavies. Most of my teammates and enemies are Stalkers, Brits, Griffons, Rhinos, Carnage, and Raijins and almost always past me in bot and weapon levels. I get pounded. Often. My first question is, do I really have to upgrade to a heavy bot to stop getting pummeled as much? 2-Do I have to upgrade to AU and WSP bots to stop getting pummeled as much. 3-I don't consider myself that great of a pilot, but is my ranking basically telling me that I, with my medium AG hanger, am on the same level as others with their AU/WSP heavy hangers with levels higher than mine? I just don't see it that way since I so often just get slammed. 4-Does a hanger have any bearing on who you're matched up against at all, any more? It used to be that I would be matched up against similar hangars. Is that simply gone with Leagues? Again, I'm sorry if this is addressed in other threads, I just couldn't seem to find it after a short search. I'll take any advice or any redirection to other threads. Thank you. (On a side note to this screen shot, I just achieved Silver II, so I am moving forwards, gaining points. I have no desire what-so-ever in tanking.)

Jesus, your still using silver tier setups....what you have their should work, if you have spare AG, take of all those weapons and mound them to new bots...how much spare WSP do you have?

Hello there.
Short answers I think are:
1) yes, level up the bots. 4 is pretty low. You want bots and weapons on the same level now. It might help you to add at least 1-2 heavies, if not more.
2). No, Leo, Griffin, and boa should still do OK in silver 2, if you get them to level 7 w your weapons.
3). This is the tough one. You can level up and compete in silver 2, or take ur bearings and level down eventually. It's your choice.
4). No, running lower hangar won't let u fight lower level guys. You would have to lose enough that ur league levels down.
Hope that helps.

Still using them. I've been playing the 4/7 ag bots for quite a while now because 1) I didn't like the slowness of the heavier bots 2) didn't like the lack of firepower/armor in the light bots 3) got comfortable with the ag bots when hanger was the factor in matchmaking 4) 4/7 was mostly devoid of higher end pilots so it was just more about fun for me rather than a high competitiveness. 5) didn't have to worry about matchmaker adjustments being made due to having AG/WSP bots. Now, I'm just comfortable with them. I have enough AG, AU and WSP because I've been playing without the need for any of it since I wasn't upgrading anything. AG-70 million AU-14,000 WSP-65,000 AG is a little lower than it could be because a few months ago I leveled up a heavy level 6 AG hanger (Natasha, Leo, and Griffons) with level 8 AG/AU/WSP weapons because I wanted to start figuring out how to play heavies. Looks like I might be switching over to those heavies, now.

Your opinions coincide directly with what I suspected. I have a level 6 hanger with 5 AG heavies, so I'm going to switch over to them for a bit and, if there isn't really any kind of penalty for AU/WSP bots in a hanger, I'll probably get a couple of those to try out (Currently only have a Natasha, a Leo and 3 Griffons). Is the recommendation of bot and weapons being of equal level pretty standard now, or is that a contested opinion?

Get to level 7 at least on your bots and of course you'll need the weapons to match, they'll be more your speed and you'll have the firepower to hang

I just stretched it and moved them 3 levels up. With the League system, it makes sense that this particular strategy has changed.

After you reach level 9 with the bots you are going to use to compete, there is not much problem to leave them at 9 and level your weapons one or 2 levels higher. I'm doing that and no problem so far. Your hangar will do fine till you get to gold 2 or so, gold 1 things start getting ugly, so I advise you to start preparing for that, Griffin is there for silver and it can compete without any problem against gold bots. The only gold bot you really REALLY need is a Fury and a Galahad, but Fury is more important IMO.

I think the strategy now is to tune your hanger to move you into the league you want to play in. To stay steady in a league your win rate needs to be very close to 50% unless you intentionally throw the occasional match to get the -20.

To stay steady in a league your win rate needs to be very close to 50% unless you intentionally throw the occasional match to get the -20. Not quite sure how to tune my hangar to the league I want to play in. What league you're in depends on how many points you get which are based on how well you do in battles, so I'm not sure what the hanger would have to do with it. Since I was playing 4/7 medium AG bots and still getting more points than I was losing, eventually moving up a level, in order for me to lose more, I'd have to get an even weaker hanger or, as you said, throw matches. And I have no interest at all in throwing matches. Bottom line appears to be that if I want to maintain an equity between my bots and my opponent's bots, I'm going to have to upgrade them to higher levels and/or move from medium AG bots to heavier, AU/WSP bots. Thank you for your input, as well. My previous statements may have come across antagonistic or sarcastic, but they weren't meant to.

Started making changes and upgrades. Trying to decide what will be my first AU/WSP bot. Now my concern is that Pix will change how Leagues run, in the near future, and hangars will become a factor in matchmaking, again, then I'll have to go back and buy and upgrade once again to get the hangar I once had. (: Hey, I can't fault them for trying to make money, can I?

Well, silver bots are cheap to replace and to level up to the 4/7 mark, so if that does come to pass, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think this system will be with us for a while anyway.
If you are moving up, you are apparently not getting beaten too badly with those bots. I only recently moved away from my brickfighting boa and my melee vit (level 7 to level 8 on bots and weapons) and I only dropped them because I want to concentrate on getting my hangar (eventually) to 12/12, and they can't hang with that level of gold bots.
Gold bots: I love my Galahad, and plenty of top-tier guys use them as well. Gold weapons: Orkans. seriously.
WSP bots: Carnage (with Thunders) is a sweet ambush bot. It's a little slow below about level 6 or 7, though, so start leveling it right away. (Alterately, Tridents work pretty well on it, if you want to replace that trident golem)
