By now, I think every has seen this league scoring system. There is a problem with this system and it the fact that it does not adjust for 5v6 matches. I finished a winning match as the short handed team in a 5v6 battle. I placed 5th and received 3 points. Our 6th person did ZERO damage and never spawned in. Our six place person either received zero or more likely 2 points. There is a real problem with this. Freelo should never happen and players should be compensated when battles are unfair. I have two proposed solutions. 5v6 wins: Leaver always take a -20 hit. The 20 points are equally distributed between the 5 winning players for 4 points/player. This rewards players for winning a match in spite of being short handed. 5v6 loses: Leaver takes an additional -29 hit for a total of -49. Every player on the losing team is granted zero points. This way there is neither anything gained or lost by the 5 players on the short handed team. Thoughts?

I think you mean "an additional -29"... so the total team losses go to the leaver?
In which case, you're hitting someone who disconnects through no fault of their own with a -49 penalty.
I thought -20 was bad enough for the few times my game froze on me!
I'm not sure my phone would survive a -49 penalty.
I rarely get top damage, so would take many games to recover.

I'm editing the original. I view losing 15 points because you are fighting 5v6 as much worse than losing 49 because you crashed/left. I think people are still spawning in and just leaving because 1) they don't like the map or 2) they are tanking. Either way, the other 5 players should not be punished.

Doesn't this make it easier for tankers? Should a tanker's random teammates be punished? I just lost 4 points on Springfield with a bad spawn location where two people punched out from the drop. Should I be punished for this? I see the goal of tanking: Climb as high as you can for gold then tank for easy competition and gold. What Pix needs to do is have an end of month gold payout instead of instant rewards. This will encourage climbing all month and not just for the first 5 seed matches.

It's not a penalty for tanking if it's what the tanker wants. It'll help them tank more quickly. This is why Pix needs to have ranking payouts at the end of the month and match dodge penalties beyond elo. Have a better suggestion that works within the current MM/league system?

Leavers queues. People that ditch or idle out too much end up in a separate MM purgatory with other ditchers. Games there give no gold, and you have to win your way out. Call it the "tank league"

I recon leavers should not get any negative points because that's what they wanted for tanking thus it shouldn't be given.

Honestly, reducing the entire game payout of points, both positive and negative (keeping it a net total of zero) would be fairest when players drop, at least if the losing team is short-handed. Beating a short-handed team doesn't deserve as big a payoff and losing short-handed doesn't deserve as big a penalty.
On the other hand, if you win despite being outnumbered, you've definitely earned your full points (perhaps with the missing player's points being spread out to the rest of the lower ranked players). Extra penalties for losing against a short-handed team seem unnecessary and just penalize players who did nothing to deserve extra penalties.
Just a thought.

How would the adjusted system work in a case like this? Literally half the losing team wasn't present for the battle. The three of us who did play, out scored 5/6 of the players on the other team.

Well, with the -20, -15 and -10 slots empty, only the -4 slot remains open. Since league points are a zero sum, at most 4 points should be awarded and deducted total, and probably less would be fairer. With this unbalanced a game, a fair argument can be made that no leagues points should be awarded or lost due to the gross out numbering.
