Orkans and piñatas have been changed server-side to detonate at full range. Previously those weapons were set to detonate at target range, making it possible to outrun with light robots and certain mediums/heavies.

This sucks. Its an indirect nerf of Galahad and Gareth

Would be interesting to see what a change like would do to Tridents.

This sucks. Its an indirect nerf of Galahad and Gareth Not if you run plasma Yes it is. He's referring to those two bots' ability to outrun Pinata missiles, not them using them.

so now we actually have to hit them?

In that case , I don't see a difference. Those bedamned rockets always seem to land square on my arse no matter what. It seems the only time this will matter is if said britbot is behind cover and the rockets fail to hit a surface close to it. Do we even have a reliable source for this info ?

so now we actually have to hit them? Buh-bye splash damage

So they are like bullets then?

I'm not understanding this --- if they explode a full range then you have to actually hit a target?
This change would be something I'd expect for the Trident, not Orkans or Pinatas.

I'm not sure about this either.
So you can't splash damage people behind cover anymore? But then people can't back up against it anymore?

When did this happen? iOS or Android? Has there been any tests to confirm this?
Need a little more information.. A big change like that 'on a whim' seems sketchy.

So they are like bullets then? Yes and no. Yes in that they will travel in the direction you aim them until they hit something, or reach their max range. No in that when they hit something or reach their max range, they explode and do splash damage.

I was still outrunning Orks in a Galahad as of an hour ago on iOS?

Ahh ok..so no proximity fuse...Tridents need the same.

I was still outrunning Orks in a Galahad as of an hour ago on iOS? Indeed. Two things to discuss here: 1) What such a change would mean. That's mostly been what we're mulling over. 2) That's a serious change. Do we have serious evidence that it's happened? Not so sure on that one.

I read somewhere that they will explode at enemy range if the lock is used... I might be imagining that

So unless your target is at 300m you wont do any damage?

My take, if I understand it correctly: Loss: Can't hit people hiding around corners (unless RIGHT at weapon range). Any missed shots at close/mid range are gone, 0 damage (unless next to a wall/uneven ground)
Gain: Target running backwards can still be hit
Over all I do not like the idea of this change, and would prefer things stay as they are. I think the optimal use for rockets will become jumping Griffs, the rockets (I HOPE) will explode when they hit the ground, all around the target, even if they "miss"

Giving them an additional advantage in comparison to other robots would make the problem even bigger. I'm not saying Griffins are OP, Gareth and Galahad are by far the most OP robots in the game. But you have to question if Griffin is also not somewhat OP since it is basically everywhere. Especially considering the Griffin is a silver bot...

This is total bull「dookie」. This will kill the game and wont give it any diversity.

Tested this on Android.. Bout ten games now. I can't see any evidence that this change has actually occurred. Missiles still detonate around targets just as they did before. Perhaps OP was underestimating the explosive trigger radius?

Perhaps OP was underestimating the explosive trigger radius? I have also only noticed that the radius that the missiles explode is about 50% from Before and that is ok with me as long as they dont need direct hits.

Don't see this at all - an hour ago unloaded a dbg at a stationary db rhino while jumping backwards from about 200m away. He lost half his health, while I lost about 10k while his missiles exploded in front of me.

Not seeing them work this way on iOS. They work as they've always worked.

Is there any reliable confirmation on this anywhere? Or are we all getting worked up over a troll from a first-time poster here?

If this change did happen, there is a pinata patton in my last game (painted bright red too) that needs his money back. My Cossack bounded to safety every time. (Android OS)
