Hi all, Only about a month ago I discovered this game. My kid was playing it, and it seemed fun. And it is. So, still very fresh, learning the ropes, reading up, and sometimes playing alongside my son. Below my hangar. Surely still a lot of beginner mistakes, so any advice is welcome. For me the goal is first to discover how to pilot all these bots to their max. Learn the tactics. Spend some $$, but for now that's it. Time to play, learn, and have fun. I would love to stay in my Silver League 1 for now. Too often I get hammered by Gold players already. What's the trick to stay in the same league? If any... Further my avg.damage is not too high. Occasionally I am in a game that we win, but it's over within 2 minutes by having captured all red's beacons. As a result the damage win is under 100K, dragging down my avg. Any advice how to overcome this? Lastly, I normally start with a fast bot to capture beacons, like my Kumiho. Then if it is still alive, I kinda kamikazi it (dealing damage to the red's) so to switch to a different bot. Would it be better not to have it killed by the red's in some kind of kamikaze action and just change bots, or does that not matter? Thanks

I would say work for some avenger to replace the thunders on your bulwark. Orkans for the kumiho, and something to replace the leo, you have range covered in the lance. Maybe start towards a raven if you like the griffin. All you really need now is a bit more splash damage that just the two tulumbus.

I would love to stay in my Silver League 1 for now. Too often I get hammered by Gold players already. What's the trick to stay in the same league? If any... To stay in a low league you want fast beacon cappers that do low to moderate damage. High damage is what raises you up quickly. Get rid of the Bulwark especially and go for Kumiho, Strider, Pursuer, Raven, even Gareth. Actually Strider, Pursuer and Raven may be overpowered for Silver league. If you’re spending money to get premium meta gear like the Bulwark you will move up because you basically shouldn’t be that low with such gear unless you intentionally handicap yourself with weaker weapons. I mean Silver 1 is where you are now because you’re new but as you learn to play better this hangar, as is, is strong enough to take you into Diamond, if not Expert. I think it’s funny you want to stay in such a low league while willing to pay, that’s generally what moves you up faster. I’d say, if you’re committed to staying in Silver and buying fancy gear then just don’t level it too high. Bots take to level 9 but weapons leave around 6. And as you get better even 6 may be too high. Or just keep playing and move into Gold and Diamond leagues, in time you’ll be just as competitive. As to damage average, that doesn’t matter. There’s no bonus or reward from it except bragging rights. And kamikazing is fine, gets the reds disoriented and cuts them down a bit but you can also go to Menu (in the top right corner during battle) and select eject bot. The first bot you can change right away but subsequent bots have a 1.5 minute wait on being changed (too many people were abusing this to get rid off all there bots at start).

Hi phycoshot,
Thank you for your advise. I have various weapons in stock that I am not using, won in chest and so:
1xVortex at lvl 4 2xST at lvl 7 (tried at the Kumiho, but had better succes with the lvl 8 Tulumbas. Maybe I have to learn how to use the ST)
2xAvenger at lvl 1 1xZeus at lvl 5 1xTrebuchet at lvl 1
As I do not wish to spend any more $$$ for now, and my silver is at 2.6 M and my gold is at 3500: what would you recommend?

Hi Pulse Hadron,
some interesting points and thoughts. Definitely learning here, appreciated. I read on a site to keep the bots low, but weapons high. As you see from my hangar, that's why I followed. Maybe I just play and not mind moving up. Especially as you say that basically my stuff is good enough for the next higher leagues.
Cheers!

That hangar and levels are suggesting Diamond to Expert league on android side though you have spent real money to get it so fast. Nothing bad in it Like you wrote it's time to learn more tactics. Even basic 6/6 hangar can bring you to Diamond 2 league by playing the game wisely. I got impression you play beacon modes, perhaps Domination, but you rely too much to your hangar if getting hammered by reds from Gold league (unless those are tankers with even more powerful hangars). Playing solo games in a random team will result all kind of outcomes. Maybe... not sure about this option, but finding a clan which do have members willing to give tips and more advice could be good choice. Before you get frustrated to game.

I play on Android.95% would be Domination, I enjoy the variety of this game most. So far no frustration, fun only. Joining a clan i have not yet really considered. I received some invite, but ignored them. Afraid I would have to commit time that I may not always be able to give (work, family)

If you don't mind moving up a bit you could either replace the thunders with the avenger for one of the builds on the bulwark, or you could replace them with your two Zeus and run lead hose on your leo and lance, lead hose is a full punisher build. Your other will be just fine for now and are pretty good for your league.

Welcome to the Forum!
I would put those Avengers on the bully, but upgrade them to 6 or so, first. Keep the Thunders on 'till then and just get good at the shield management and positioning of the Bully. Learning when to switch to the Physical shield and back to the Aegis, is important. So is finding the spots on the map that your 2 weapons on top can take advantage of for firing from cover.
I agree with Orks on the Kumiho... NOT shocktrains. Scourge is another good option. Coronas or Storms are what I enjoy to use on that guy... but I have Carnage Thunder syndrome from the early days of the game. Can't kick it. Not even by taking 3 Dragons and a Strider a day... damn doctors always get it wrong.
As to your stats... don't worry overmuch. Stats are always fluctuating. Just enjoy the game and learn it.
1 tip is to wait a bit before picking your first bot and try and see what your teammates are dropping. If they drop 2 or 3 beacon cappers to start with... maybe go with a heavier bot to actually hold what they take. Then you have a capper for any late game beacon grabs.
IMO, YMMV

As for the Kumiho, I have some gold to buy an Orkan, but I also have an unused Vortex. what if I mix a Vortex and an Orkan? About the same range as well. Interesting about the Shocktrains. First they were THE feared weapon, and now they seem rather useless. Many thanks

It also sounds like you're spending money on this game too. Nothing wrong with that, but I would caution you to do it as sparingly as possible. For example, buy the cheap gold deals but never buy a bot or weapon outright with real money. You will hate yourself down the road.
Take your time, have fun. Games are funner in the lower leagues anyway. The event is around the corner so you might get tankers and clubbers but just take it in stride and play on. You're hangar is pretty good already and you got some good advice here, so I won't repeat it.

Oh yeah, you can squad with your kid that’s playing. If you’re both on Facebook you can link War Robots to that and squad that way or for 1500 gold make your own clan, or both join the same clan. I’ve never done it but think it would be cool to squad with someone in the same room. If you’re in very different leagues though one of you will have a hard fight.

I know I picked up another Strider for that yesterday, or the day before can't remember, and I am not at all hating myself for it
I don't like giving them money for 50$ and 100$ purchases... but 5 $ isn't so bad. In my mind, anyway.

Nope, when you see a bot you really want for that cheap, then go for it! I should have said, NEVER PAY FULL PRICE FOR A BOT OR WEAPON.
I hmm'ed and hawed too long on the Strider deal. I kept thinking that I have 2 Kumihos that I don't run anymore and if I really wanted a good dash brawler, I can just dust those off. Plus, I'm focused on my plan for a Blitz. Only 3 more days or so before I finish, and I'll need all my silver to upgrade it to L9. I kind of regret it now because I'd been wanting a bot to run my Viper on, but then again, I'd have to take the Shredders off my Mender and i really don't want to do that! Bottom line, I just don't have enough weapons to go around to commit to a Strider...oh well!
