What are effective beacon cappers? I want a fast robot but can still be able to do a lot of damage, and probably pulling off a kill.
Some people might tell me to get the Galahad, but I can't afford it. No Gold robots and weapons.

If WSP is in play, Stalker with aphids, maybe magnums. Otherwise Turan Cossack, or levelled up Boa. I ran an over levelled destrier with magnums as a power runner with some success, but I DON'T recomend it.

Hah, you thought I was gonna say Taran Cossack.
You were right.

Surprised there was no mention of the Gareth. Galahad is also decently fast, same with carnage

When you say 'effective' it can only be gary or stalker. cossack gets love from me as well for for capping, but they are slightly more prone to warranty voiding damage on the field than other bots.
I really want to say galahad can fill the role decently as well, but youve ruled him out.

Surprised there was no mention of the Gareth. Galahad is also decently fast, same with carnage ... because he said no gold robots or weapons... otherwise I'd say Gareth too... I guess, as damage is a requirement, the Taran Cossack is a good choice.

Surprised there was no mention of the Gareth. Galahad is also decently fast, same with carnage Gareth for sure. For whatever reason my Galahad at the same level is a lot more squishy...and a whole lot slower. In a head to head fight, my Gareth would often lose to a Galahad, but that was mainly on short maps where a confrontation is less avoidable. Neither can take a full on RDB hit, but the Gareth can backpedal faster.

A Gareth is an affordable beacon capper but the Galahad can defend itself well. The Gareth cannot.

I find my plasma Gareth goes quite well against plasma Griffins as well as Carnages as long as there not thunders or Tridents. I run a level 10 Gareth and It can take a direct treb fury hit to the shield and do no damage when the bot is fresh. Granted it cant take rocket fire well, but in the right hands it can run circles around larger, slow bots and do much work before being destroyed. Although it lacks the health of its bigger brother and one less light weapon mount, The Gareth, especially in groups can be a great bot to help control the map.

I know you said no gold bots, but really Gareth is the answer.
Otherwise use a taran cossack and level up the taran for your future Gareth.

Another vote for the Gareth.
Sure the OP asks for non-gold bots, but at 1'250, it is really a bargain. Easily the best 'bang for your buck' robot in the game, I sit just in between gold and diamond right now and the Gareth and Galahad are totally dominating out there.
If you have no gold at all, then probably a Cossack or a Schutze. It depends your style.

Carnage. The Gareth is fun for up to silver in IOS. In gold it seems Tridents become more frequent and then I recommend something more substantial. The Carnage can take all the way to top tier.

SGT D00M! Not trying to be funny. People use Rhinos for capping beacons, Lance is just as good with its Rush ability. I would've said Natasha if I was trying to troll.

The thing is, Rhino has the speed boost at all times. Lancelot has to wait 20 seconds for 10 seconds of rush. Lancelot is better at taking back heavily defended beacons. Rhino is better at taking unattended or lightly defended beacons.

Perhaps you failed to read the OPs post that he could not afford a Galahad. I doubt that however, and fully believe you are up to your normal trollish behavior.

Any bot. Get close and cap it. Seems no one cares to cap in Diamond lol... beacons are plenty. Have seen 2/2 go 5 mins ?

Ran a lvl 11 Gareth 11/11 mag/taran with great success.

Seems like there were more beacon cappers out and about today. Had several games with 20 - 30. Awesome!

I recently moved to expert II league And it seems beacon capping is a forgotten art. Either they camp, Or just resigned themselves to losing and go for as much damage as possible..

Effective beacon cappers other than Gareth and Galahad:
1. Stalker - it is a light bot making it inexpensive to purchase and upgrade and it has the fastest standard movement speed in the game and the targeting blocking special ability. It doesn't do much damage but when used by a skilled pilot it can create havoc for the other team and cap those beacons. Due to its low health and low firepower it should usually not be used to try to hold the beacon. It is usually at a disadvantage if up against its main rivals - the Gareth and Galahad.
2. Rhino - fast movement speed (with shield up), tough physical shield and serious firepower. The Rhino is still used in top tier play to cap and hold beacons in a hurry. It takes some practice to get used to and a lot of skill to use effectively.
