Buff 1:Replace the dual heavy hardpoints with quad medium ones. This will make raijin into an excellent or even a fearsome beacon defender wielding quad orkans/tarans. Buff 2:Remove both the sheilds and ability but increase Hp by 150%.Why not?At least he is still mobile while having extreme defensive capabilities,or maybe he will just turn into a mobile punching bag. :/ Buff 3:Increase top speed to 40:For great immobility comes with great speed Buff 4:Add the protolot already PIX!
Thoughts?

Thoughts? 1 is op, 2 could work, 3 doesnt really suit a bot that is intended for beacon defence.

Buff 1: No, 4 mediums is the equivalent of 6 light slots while two heavies would only be the equivalent of 4 light slots, that would be beyond overpowered.
Buff 2: No, that would completely remove the point of his ability, in addition, his health would be over 300k, this would be overpowered as well. A Rhino's shield is 260k hp and you already know how hard it is to crack that.
Buff 3: No, he's a heavy bot with 250k hp. He's already extremely fast for that.
Buff 4: NO, the protolot would be even more overpowered than buff 1.
In my opinion, the buff should be reducing the raijin's health to 180k-200k in exchange for 36kmph speed and a buff to the raijin's shields. This would make the raijin more balanced overall and would give its ability more meaning.

You couldnt be more wrong Raijin has a very wide frame which means it would be easier to target at close range.removing 70k health would only be a buff if the raijin had 50+ speed. Raijin needs a third weapon slot.what you may ask?a medium hardpoint on the top of the bot to make it a offensive tank.now you may think that that would be overpowered but that's where you're wrong splash would counter it very well by taking its shield and bot health away but what about plasma?you see plasma won't verse it very much because of the raijins health and shield. But when using a full plasma build against the raijin you can easily take away one of its shields and go from there.

Buff 4: NO, the protolot would be even more overpowered than buff 1. I think this is the main reason we haven't seen the Protolot yet ---- too many bots can use it and the game would be forever tilted to mid-long range.

The purpose of the Raijin was to be a mobile turret. In that, it fulfills its job. The problem is that the maps and tactics of most pilots do not suit it. Other than a slight speed buff, I think it's fine the way it is.

5) Add a light hard point that deploys/hides with the shield. Bump the speed by 1 kph.

I stated this someone where else, but will add again. The simplest adjustment would be to simply allow the Raijin to move while the shield is up without any impairment. Simple, elegant and would likely make the Raijin playable.

Yup make it like the Rhino. In Bastion mode it can only use 2 heavy weapons. On Normal mode, it can use 2 light hard points for an equivalent of a Natasha payload.
The Raijin doesn't need anymore defensive capabilities; it's lacking power for something so slow.

Last night I actually encountered one sporting a shield and thunder, he walked up, and camped on a beacon near our spawn spot, Shenzhen, I think C... was quite a beast, especially doing random play. I was decked out with rockets on my Griff, so could really put the hurt on him.... once the shield was down... kept plinking Orkans around a corner to annoy him, while waiting for someone to spawn who could assist, finally me and another guy were able to take him out. No real way to take something like that out solo though heh. At least not in under 5 minutes. I don't own a shield yet, but when I do... that's going to be one of the first things I do Giving it a build-in energy shield AND keeping both heavy slots would probably be a bit much. A little speed boost though would be reasonable IMHO

Double ancile raijin play instructions: 1) walk to center beacon 2) deploy shield 3) get coffee

Ron Gaul had an idea that I still think is best one in town. No Speed or HP buff and kill the shield all together. The shield is replaced with two more heavy hardpoints. These hard points can ONLY be deployed when in "Bastion mode" Now you have a mobile support turret that can deal out some serious death. The lack of built in shielding and mobility when all four slots were deployed should keep it from being OP as it would be a primary target, much like the Fury is currently.

I'd even dust off mine n play it again lol

Sorry Gaul, but 4 of ANY Heavy weapon is ridiculously OP. Be honest, there aren't enough people wielding Trebuchets to deal any reasonable damage to kill it under 3:00. With that being said, the outrageous damage output would make it impossible to kill if it chose to use Zeus, Trebuchets or Tridents.

The problem with many of these ideas is that they require a model rework which isn't easy. Hard points, rework. No shields, rework. Lights deployed when in bastion, major rework. Is any rework also means fixing the paint job too.
Given PIX has limited resources, i would rather not see them waste that much time on one bot that could be fixed with other tweaks. Better to make stay balanced and focus art resources on new bots.

Raijin (and fujin) does not need any buff, if played correctly in a coordinated team they do exactly what they are intended to do, giving a mobile cover to allies and help defending key point...the problem is that when you play solo you do not have a coordinated team and that many ppl pretend to use them as assault bot , both things are epic fails for raj&fuj Just my two cents
