This game is relatively new. Here are some reasons I've shelved War Robots for it:
1. I get the impression from players that it's not pay to win, it's only pay to progress faster
2. You can upgrade more than 1 thing at the same time!
3. You can get energy cells ("keys") in supply drops! Everyone gets the same amount, there's no league system
4. It took me only 2 hours to get most of the robots I really want to have. Take this from someone who does his homework before investing in bots. It took me 150 hours and cash to get the gold robots I really wanted to have from War Robots
5. Someone told me that he got a full upgraded hanger in six weeks
6. THEY. LISTEN. TO. THE. COMMUNITY. THEY. COMMUNICATE. WITH. PEOPLE.
