Wish we could test your theory. One on one challenge matches would be great

[] Zeus Carnage at 8/8 in my hangar [] has the double fire rate, thus putting more pressure on the reds. [] Huh? I'm always on blue and still get zapped by zeuses! That's unfair! ;D As I'm running 8/8 TriCarny, zeuses on the red side are not my friends, especially after ancile fix. Atm they cost too much Au for me to get a set, so I'm simply jealous

Let's make an damage focused comparison between OP's LV 10 Fury & LV 10 RDB. However I will throw in a LV 10 Tulu doc as a bonus (for the sake of top tier DPS comparison) Assuming everything is at LV10
Fury W/ Tridents - Single Salvo - 50,949
- Theoretical DPM - 203,796
- Reload - 10 seconds
- Firing time - 3.7 seconds
Because the Tridents has a 3.7 second firing period and 10 second reload. 4 salvos can be done in under a minute, which brings us to a theoretical 203,796 damage output in under a minute, assuming no missiles miss.
RDB W/ Pins/Tulus - Single Salvo - 50,808
- Theoretical DPM - 169,357
- Reload - Tulu: 18 seconds, Pin: 12 seconds
- Firing time - 2 seconds
The single salvo is very close but as you can see the reload time is significantly higher than Trident's and somewhat varying which hurts the RDB's potential DPM. The jump ability gives RDB a slight edge over Fury.
RDB is a good and cheap alternative compared to the Fury . But the inconsistent reloading time (Tulu - 18 seconds, Pin - 12 seconds) kills it for me. Although the jump ability is nice and can be extremely useful compared to walking around with the slow and bulky Fury.
RDB is more useful on knifer maps but Fury outclasses and outranges RDB on any other map.
In my opinion, Fury is more stronger than RDB but RDB has better utility.
Sacrifice some DPM in favor for utility or go all out guns blazing with Fury, your choice.
All true. and you haven't even mentioned the 100 meters range and the splash radius differential. A Trident Fury can wreck a RDB bot before it has the chance to fire and can hit a running or jumping target much more easily than a RDB Griff. That said, I often run an RDB griffin and a triple zeus fury... and I particularly enjoy frying the trident and zeus Carnages with it (and the stalkers, but there I shed a tear for my mates and then turn to my capper hangar to atone).

Currently tridents fury is the best mid range.. able to damage physical shielded bot.. able to damage enemy that hide in cover.. the best map for this bot is shenzen, canyon, and yamantau..but also good enough if you want to use it on the other maps.. Me? I use trebuchet fury to kill any mid range enemy bots.. So your're the guy with the 3 blinking lights sitting on the other side of the map in Yamateau :-) Sorry for very late reply..not open this forum for very long time.. lol.. Btw,, believe me.. using trebuchet is soooooo boring.. lol.. but i think someone need to take care enemy tridents to give friendly bot chance to get middle beacon.. even ancile lancelot cant stand if the enemies have 3-4 tridents fury on their side.. and you can see,,i have 4 knife fighter that need protection..

Spydra Griff > TT Fury/Zues Fury > RDB I use to have a RDB Griff and its good for beacon capping and midrange, but the TT Fury has 100m more range and dishes out more damage. You do the math. Rather than sit stationary and out in the open playing the waiting game, come within 600 meters, hide behind cover, cap beacons, and just tee off on any Fury setup with a spydra. Spydra Griff is superior and nobody in the game has an answer when I'm able to cut their health in half while behind cover. Quite often I make TT Fury players give up before slowly killing them off Spydra is like a world class Boxer and this is combat after all. I use to box myself and am a huge MMA fan. My philosophy is about hitting and not getting hit and my win rate hasn't dropped below 65% with this strategy. Quite unsophisticated to sit out in the open, at a distance, and wait for opportunities to come rather than hitting and not getting hit. There is no answer to the Spydra if you use it right. Spydra Griff can hit targets without getting hit, distract, and frustrate reds like nobodies business. Its a Cossack on roids... Often times I get at least 3 reds throwing their strategy out the window and all coming to get me.... This allows my team to take center beacons, advance, and outnumber knife fighting reds. Not to mention allowing those reds pursuing me to get flanked lol. Spydra Griff is far more sophisticated and I NEVER lose to a Fury of any type.

. A Trident Fury can wreck a RDB bot before it has the chance to fire......... . . Man, you can say that again ! I was trying out a Quad Gekko on a Patton on the test server this morning. I walked out toward the end platform on Yamantau and started to fire that chicken roaster up and BLOOEY...... a Trident Fury blew my tin-can to kingdom come with 1 shot. Ouch ...... .

I like everything about this post. Nicely written sir.
