I've been playing Mech Wars a little since it was first released. It's now in Beta and is starting to really look Awesome.
Having been there since the beginning I've been MILES in front of the pack in both power and strategy, the others are all starting to catch up and the battles are becoming more and more intense.
I am loving this game. Come give the Beta a try!
If I get some time this weekend I'll make some gameplay Videos of me ripping them apart with My Titan Rusty.

Just saw this pop up today in the app store -- Mech Wars. Very nice looking graphics, nice game play. Similar controls to War Robots, but lots of extras and goodies available early on. And.... destructable scenery! Your bots can topple over trees and light poles. Just another option for those tiring of the pimping panda.

Played it. It’s fun. Out of the gate it’s a great start. Plays so much better on my iPhone Xs than War Robots, which is unplayable. Have to use the iPad. Controls and targeting are much better and game play is fun. Love the 4 minute tdm match with respawn. Haven’t played the capture the assault mode yet. Same mechanics as far as specialties and weapons. Might be my iPhone go to. However it froze on my second match. Thanks for the notice!

I concur. Played for about an hour and TDM is frenzied. The bots are fast, no instant death yet, and you start out with a Dragon bot! That thing flies for awhile. There’s weird shield walls that appear and I think the lasers look better. Plus multiple upgrades at the same time, though my silver is short . They don’t drop your bots randomly like in Mech Battle so you can set up frontlines. Another nice addition.

I just reinstalled the game to give it a shot. It looks better than it did last year when I tried it briefly. The game is small, less than 200MB so it installed quick and loads quick. Games are intense, and I don't know yet if all mechs have the flying ability (I think they do) and some mechs have other abilities like dash and stuff but the flying does add a 3D dimension to the game that makes it fun. There's still no vertical view like War Robots, but aiming is similar to both War Robots and BoT, where the computer targets an enemy for you, but you still have to line up your crosshairs on it, but there's no auto targetting like War Robots where you just need to get close to the red square and the computer aiming takes over. In Mech Wars you have to have as good aim as in BoT, so it adds a bit of challenge to the game. Some criticisms, I wish the mech designs had more individuality, I wish the mechs were a bit more polished, and I wish there was free form view like in BoT so that I can look around on my on, but other than that, I think this game has potential. There's a some P2W elements, and because there is leveling involved, there will always be a power differential in favour to those who've played longer or have spent money. But, so far, it doesn't seem as bad as War Robots. Yes, it's early days, but those who're looking for a change, this is worth a look.

Any advice for newbies on what gear to get and what robots to aim for? I fell for the early upgrade notices and upgraded my first bot and weapons. Then, I promptly ran out of silver. Then, when I got my second bot, the one that dash (which by the way is SO damn cool to dash while flying), I don't have enough silver now to uprade and now have to grind out some silver.
Also, the leveling is a pain... I don't like the laser this bot comes with and really want that double gatling machine gun... but thats only available at level 5, and I only just got level 3.

Thanks for that! Gorgeous graphics! I spent the $3 just for the novelty of the game.

I'm in the same boat (level 3), and I want that same gun x2 on the same bot. I'll just take my time and grind it out to level 5. I've been slowing down on the upgrades since I've taken some time to peruse the stores and have a shopping list already, which means I'm having a tougher time keeping up in battles. But there are definitely some good battles, no one-sided slaughters (yet), win some, lose some. Gonna play a bit more and get a feel for how it's going to progress before I think about forking over any monetary support, but it's looking promising. Meanwhile, I'm still giving equal time to Mech Battle, too. Edit: Ok, this one is pulling me in. Mech Battle might be taking a back seat soon. PS: Threads merged, because your favorite idiot mod didn't see the one that was already there. Carry on, carry on.

Thanks for that! Gorgeous graphics! I spent the $3 just for the novelty of the game. Liking it? I am! The game play takes a bit of getting used to, but I'm loving the novelty of riding dinosaurs. A good portion of the dinos are flying ones, so there's a 3D element, and the free aim targeting is a welcome feature. I'm not sure I like the off centre camera angle, but I suppose that's necessary due to the size/length of the dinosaurs.

Yeah I still think there's some kinks like weapon range not working at max length specified or flying dinos being OP and the meta being artillery. But overall it's nice relaxing games with fast progression.

But overall it's nice relaxing games with fast progression. I haven't gotten any artillery weapons yet! But I like how the weapons are balanced to certain degree. The rockets do a lot of damage really fast but are hard to use and are almost useless against the flying dinos. The revolver guns have a huge advantage in range against the gatlings and pair really well with a flying dino and chip away at range, but is almost useless against the energy shields. The first basic dino you get isn't completely useless and is a fast knife fighter. But, yeah, there seems to be bugs abound, and sometimes the game is very laggy. I haven't decided which game I like better, this or Mech Wars. I mean, I did spend money on this game and none on Mech Wars, but that was purely for the novelty and the gorgeous graphics.

So I'm liking Mech Wars better than Mech Battle, and way more than War Robots right now. Although I do better at Mech Battle, usually consistently scoring at or near the top, I like Mech Wars game play much more, even though I'm pretty consistently at or near the bottom. I'm leveling up bots abs weapons as fast as I can, even bought a month of premium, but I'm just getting flat out wrecked almost every game. It would be nice if I could find a reference site for it like there is for War Robots so I can figure out what the hell I'm doing.
Haven't even opened War Robots but once in the last two weeks, and pretty much hated it after playing the other two.

I think there are still a lot of AI bots in this game. I wish more people would customize their handle so that I can tell if a mech I'm facing has a live human pilot or not. I'm starting to see more rockets (War Robots Orkan equivalent). They're hard to use, but if you're assuming an AI bot and walk straight into a full salvo, it's gonna hurt.
The stealth ability is pretty cool in this game. The mech itself turns Predator-like and is hard to see. You can still target and shoot it, but it's still cool nevertheless.
Upgrade costs are quite high for casual gaming. I don't play that much, but they also give you daily gifts that really help, like 2x ad bonus and stuff. The gameplay is fast and intense, but still somewhat buggy. Like, I can't see what happens after I shoot homing missiles. All the high damage burst weapons like rockets and bazookas travel quite slow in comparison to lasers and bullets, so good luck hitting those fast running/flying/dashing light bots (like me).
I think I like it better than Mech Battle too. The maps are really pretty and detailed and there's usually lots of terrain to add real 3D game play. There are even some things your mech can destroy by walking over.

I like Mech Wars but haven’t been playing because it doesn’t support screen rotation. I prefer to use headphones and have to turn my iPad around so the audio plug is at the top, but then the image is upside-down I think it’s like 1 or 2 lines of code to add this feature and really wish they would so I can play with all the crackle and booms. Wonder if all Momend games are missing this? I’ll write them a feature request.

I don't use phones, but my iPad cover is now at an uncomfortable position. Fix dat. Well I finally cracked a 1-million damage game -- and was still only 3rd highest! Just going with the flow for now -- play when I can, keep upgrades going, and figure out how to get gud.

Questions I have:
1. How many maps are there? 2. It seems that a game like "Mech Battle" is pay to progress faster but not pay to win. What about Mech Wars? 3. How's the learning curve compared to War Robots? Or compared to Mech Battle for that matter? 4. Is there a PC or Facebook version of this?

Questions I have: 1. 1. 4 or 5, I think -- there's no reference site that I can find, so I'm going purely by what I can remember, which isn't much. 2. Similar -- pay to advance, but I haven't figured out how matchmaking works, because you can't see the levels of other players or their gear, so it's hard to tell if you're paying with/against whales. I know there are weapons out there that I don't have access to yet -- don't know if it's higher level players, or just luck (more on that below). 3. Learning curve is about the same as the other two, basic game play is pretty easy to pick up, and then it's got a ton of boosters and other odds and ends to figure out, daily challenges, how leveling works. There's a bit of chance/luck involved too, which I'm not thrilled about. There's a 'workshop' similar to War Robots, but you can't start building something until you get the first blueprint for it in a supply drop. Contents of the drops seem to be very random, but they do give you lots of stuff. Those kinds of details take awhile to figure out. 4. Looks like it's mobile only that will run on an emulator ona PC. [/a] I'm still having a hard time deciding which one I like more. Mech Wars definitely looks and feels more polished, but there are aspects of Mech Battle that I prefer as well.

So.... I just got a real special offer in Mech Wars. $4.99 for 1000 gold (usually $4.99 for 750), plus one of their top heavy mechs (regular cost is 12k gold), plus a platinum supply chest with a ton of actual usable supplies (normally $4.99 by itself). THAT is how you entice many players to spend money. Yeah, you can spend bigger chunks if you want, but I'm finding that a little patience eventually leads to some nice rewards.
Overall, this game is a little harder to play than Mech Battle, but there's a lot more going on under the hood with boosters and power-ups, especially for such a relatively new game. Once you crack through that barrier to acquiring higher-level gear, it's a whole different world. I've been doing moderately well with my noob-ish hangar, mostly middle of the pack, even battling against mechs and weapons that I have not had access to until the last couple of days. Not at all like War Robots, which propels you to big numbers early against its dimwitted AI and then slams you into impossible competition to frustrate you into spending. It's pretty much taken over my #1 mech game spot. Maybe my #1 game overall. I wasn't sure at first, but the more I play it, the more I like it. War Robots hasn't been touched I weeks, and Mech Battle may soon be taking a back seat as well.

No way to turn off floating movement pad. Instant fail from me fam. It took a little while, but I got used to it. Also the placement of the special ability buttons, I kept hitting them by accident, especially when there are two, I was constantly hitting the lower one. Still do, but not as much as at first. A few things I'd change, but there's so much more that I like over War Robots.

I tend to roll my fingers during movement, so not being able to reliably circle strafe for me is a no-no. The way the store is set up is the secondary reason I noped out of MWs. Dropped cash into MB because I legitimately obtained a full set of pretty much every premium item in the game for free before lv20. Just my preference, but I'm not looking to get into a game the way I got into War Robots just to get shafted the way pixo is still playing everyone.

No way to turn off floating movement pad. Instant fail from me fam. What's "floating movement pad?" I'm a PC gamer and not an android gamer When you lift your left thumb off the screen and touch it down again, the direction control pad doesn't stay stationary -- it re-centers itself under wherever your thumb lands. It's a little strange at first, and really should be a selectable option.
