I just got a fujin, and threw on 3 tulumbas. Will I be disappointed with it? I've alr taken out for a spin (with a level 2 fujin and level 5 tulumbas) I'm in gold league I apparently, and this thing has already killed a few britbots.

Not a bad build but the Griffin with Tulumbas/CRV Pins does better overall with the current map rotation.

Apparently, the shield is extremely tanky with the latest update, able to take a burst from a trident Fury and recover in less than a minute.

Apparently, the shield is extremely tanky with the latest update, able to take a burst from a trident Fury and recover in less than a minute. It's good, but there are definitely better out there. Specifically, to the shield, if you are just fighting one TT Fury, you should be fine... but it is a pain to use sometimes, as you have to be able to be stationary... so pick places that have cover for your flanks if you are engaging a TT Fury. Plasma and other energy weapons will kill you, especially if shielded from the physical forms of pain and therefore, stationary. The shield itself will handle a single Fury TT if both of y'all are near the same level... but if other splash bots get in on the fun... gonna be a pain. Tulus reload is pretty horrible, like darkangel said, but if you are re-positioning a lot, as I do, it won't matter. My experience with it? I liked it. I was able to lock down side beacons as long as I had at least one short ranger for support or back up. 3 Tulus hurt. RDB is more versatile, with the same amount of damage potential, but this seemed more fun to me. So, it comes down, as it so often does, to: If you want the best midrange option, keep looking. If you want to experiment with alternative setups, it's a fun one that works... once you get using the shield down pat and learn the Fujin's capabilities and weaknesses enough to get the most out of it.

Mine is at level 9 and just earlier today I locked down a beacon from a two mid-rangers. They were out of range of my Tarans but it was fun just sitting there keeping the map control advantage until the other side finally sent two knife guys around the corner and killed me pretty fast at 4-to-1. I'm saving up Workshop points to try out the Hydra Fujin. Ag is just valuable enough to keep me from using it on Tulus right now.

The energy shield on the Fujin actually got a nerf. The fix to the 2x damage on energy shield was the fix - which gave the shield its stated damage absorption. However, the reduction in the shield's regeneration rate 30-40 percent is a pretty big nerf. The buff a few months ago that increased that regen rate to was what made the Ancilot and Ancile-Leo setups viable in the first place --- not their shield capacity (which was impacted by the 2x damage glitch anyhow). If anything, the Fujin is less viable now than it was before yesterday's iOS update.

Yes, they can be pretty resilient; that's why Fury pilots usually fire each trident individually every few seconds to wear out the shield instead of firing everything at once.

Thunder CarnageGood idea. This may be a viable counter to trident fury. Not enough experience/stats has accumulated on the energy shield rebalancing to have definitive view, so would be good if you could experiment and share your results. If you can do well with stock tulums, imagine what you can do with 3x L12 tulums!

I just had a game last night and the reds was pushing forward led by a tulu fujin. One of the stupid blues on my side had a thunder piñata leo and was trying to duel the fujin by peeking and firing. I had to take matters into my own hands rush in there with my piñata stalker and unloaded under shield right after he fired and toasted his butt.
The tulu's reload rate is the liability with your build. You need something that can lay down suppressive fire.

I've tried both RDB Griff and Tulu Fujin. I prefer RDB because you can keep the fire more consistent with the Pins' reload time being shorter, and I find Griff to be more survivable with its ability to jump away.
