I'm not a complete idiot, at least I didn't think I was. But I downloaded PUBG after seeing all the hoopla, and I'm just not getting what all the fuss is about. I start out with some chick running around in her underwear, because there is zero direction on how to get her some actual clothes. The controls utterly SUCK -- it takes about 10 tries to get through a doorway because they're jerky as hell. And I got a nasty case of motion sickness after about three minutes of trying to figure what the ?fluffernutter? I'm supposed to be doing. I can't read any of the in game displays because they're all so 「gosh darn 」 microscopically tiny. Infinitely more frustrating than hitting silver league for the first time in War Robots.
Guess what game is no longer on my iPad.
Honestly, is this what gaming has turned into?

I tried to like it and also tried to like fortnite but they are not my cup of tea unfortunately. Never the less, those games are doing really well and IMO War Robots could have done just as well with a different money making strategy. War Robots as a concept is good enough for eSports.

Tried it as well. I think it sucks. But I'm in a minority to the tune of millions.

Although I didn't like it the first time I played it... After watching hours of gameplay, I've enjoyed playing it for hours myself. You'll brawl more in the beginning when everyone is looting the best spots and then have to camp and snipe later on. And it's not uncommon to win/lose due to self-insuring, and you can only be healed by a teammate (impossible in solo matches) if your injury is critical, and you can only crawl around until you die. ?
There are many adjustable settings which is cool. It's great to be able to rearrange and change the size of anything on the screen. I increase the fire and reload button sizes.
The matchmaking is quick, and most players use voice chat and are very helpful. I don't auto pick-up scopes so my teammates are always dropping 6x scopes for me. ?
Overall great good with console features.

I've tried it and Fortnite as well. I can't play FPS games like that anymore. I just can't keep up. War Robots is still my game of choice because it's just the right speed. Not too fast and well, it's a little slow, but I can run fast bots to mitigate that.

But, occasionally, I surprise him in those games. Like when Fortenite introduced airplanes that people can jump in, I was able to fly immediately and shoot down other planes and even make a successful strafing run and kill a tiny player on the ground. It could be just how I'm wired. I can play games where I'm in a vehicle of some sort but not as a puny human running on the ground.

It's been a gamble for me whether it's exciting round or it just seems like I'm on an eternal looting spree. Which it's fun finding goodies, but definitely gets old. I've only played 10 or so rounds, and I do think it's something that gets better once you figure more out. For example, I watch gameplay videos and it's crazy seeing a whole team of guys riding around in a 4x4 mowing down folks. If I was doing that, then it'd be a different story, but I've never actually seen that kind of action in the game. My highlights are when I'm in a building sniping someone, or spending 5 or 6 min just sneaking up on some random.

It's like being out in the wilderness alone... Very lonely.

I don't know a sole in PUBG, but I can imagine squad play is a different ballgame!

Just won an awesome squad match... We each had 7-10 kills. I separated from them until the end as the safe zone became smaller. Camped on a rooftop waiting for the other squad to show up. Easy win.
Sometimes it gets so boring that I just jog around and shoot up into the air to attract attention.

... Honestly, is this what gaming has turned into? Minecraft is something I don’t understand, will never understand, and will have to accept I will never understand. It’s like avocado toast. If you like it, fine, but stay the hell away from me.
