Assume two Aphids and two Ecus (light and medium seem identical, are they?).
Now you can load these to either a Griffin or a Patton of equal Ag value. Patton is a bit more agile, but lacks jump and of course HP.
Is there any reason ever to use the Patton setup, under the current MM and league system?
(Note that this is a hypothetical setup, real Patton would probably have a third Aphid, and a real Griffin would have maybe Hydra, if insisting on having one Ecu in a missile setup like this. This isn't relevant for the purpose of the above question.)

well, in your constraints of two aphids and two ecus, of course you would prefer the griffin.
But that's really not the point of either of the bots. Patton's strength comes in having four freaking aphids, like come on I can only die so hard. And Griffin would either come in Aphid/Taran or ADB, which are both deadly when used with Griffin's jump.
So to answer your question, Griffin is better, but there's possibly adjustments to be made to the question to get the optimal answer.

Griffins are better with the ECU/Aphid setup but that isn't a very effective setup. Either run four Aphids on the Patton or run Orkan/Aphids on the Griffin.

Taran Aphids work well also.
