Zeus Carnage is not that good once you have the Trident Fury.

Zeus Molot Tasha is surprisingly effective. Does a good job moving those triple tridents off thier spot. You can punish jumping Griffins as well. Tasha is soooooo much cheaper... Zeus Molot will not stop shield bots from pushing. True. It is more of a anti trident Fury setup. However, I've had decent luck against shield bots. It's a long way to keep your shield perfectly straight, meanwhile your team mates have open shooting angles.

Appreciate advice from those regularly facing level 10-12 bots/weapons competition. I have been running a Trident Carnage for midrange for the past few weeks. Carnage is level 8, tridents at 8/8. I have the WSP now for a third trident, and the plan was to replace carnage with the inevitable Fury for going to the higher levels. I always assumed I needed one midrange bot for balance and long maps. But the thing is, it's not a fun setup for me. Also, I feel that I am not contributing enough despite taking my pot-shots every 10 seconds. I want to get in there and mix it up, cap beacons, help my blues when they are taking fire. So I added thunders to carnage instead, and really like the build a lot. So as I reconsider the fury, i am wondering the following: 1) Does the Fury's extra trident make it so much more potent than the trident carnage to the extent that it will mitigate the "I'm not helping" feeling I get from the carnage? 2) Is the all knife-fighting hangar viable in higher levels? 3) If I forego a Fury, is the attached hangar viable to move up with, or should I be swapping Carnage for something else?
heavyp, We are in the same boat, up against that same strong river!! Slow Reflexes was also in the same boat with Gold I tier. I have been debating the Fury since before I puchased my Lancelot. Although I really dont want to pace back and forth waiting to fire..... I really dont see any other way to truly be as competitive as possible. I also feel when I run my Tri/Carny that I am a 2nd string mid-ranger. It does not feel like I am doing alot of damage or effecting movement of the reds. I qualified last month in Gold I, I was running the Carnage, didnt know I was qualifiying. I now am placed in Diamond III (WTH???) I made the cut by 3 cups. I was 8.5/9 last month and now I am 9/9.1 (1 - level 10 wep). Did not play any matches since qualifying today, but I felt underpowered then & not sure what to think now?? I have 2200 Au now & I can not deny the strategic value and damage potential of the Fury. My competitive nature believes this is the only true path to take. I have 30k+ WS, getting another Trident is not a problem. Where did you qualify? Hey. I have had this debate too, my answer might be useful. I bought the Fury. It's level 8 right now and has 3 level 10 Tridents on it. It is powerful. On certain maps it can dominate. In fact using it got me in trouble with the matchmaking system. If you're good at doing damage you can easily find yourself facing much much stronger opponents. While that can be a thrilling challenge, the intermittent reward ratio is too low for my own personal wiring. My answer was to sub it out for a Thunder Carnage and only play DC, PP, Shenzhen and occasionally Canyon (if I'm feeling lucky). I do less damage, take more beacons, have a higher win percentage (that's not because the Carnage is better, but rather because after the change I've gravitated to facing weaker opposition) and enjoy my matches more, on average. But I did make my hangar weaker and less balanced, I know that I did and act accordingly. It's a tradeoff I'm willing to make, for now. What's your ambition as a player? Do you want to make the max contribution to your team that you can, rise in leagues fastest and play most like Top? In that case, buy the Fury ASAP. Do you want to rise more slowly, pursue a play style that may not be 'optimal' or be fully meta, but leads to more satisfying matches? Then you might be fine holding off on buying the Fury. Problem is, you won't know which is best for *you* unless you try both. So you kind of have to buy the Fury, though you may or may not choose to use it full time.

What a great question. Thanks for your thoughtful response. I generally just want to rise slowly, enjoying the matches along the way. I am in a great spot right now with the MM, and solo games are well matched. That said, I play in a fun and active clan, and so I also do full squads quite a bit. When I run with them, I want to be more helpful, and not the anchor on the team that meched out and prevented the win. I went ahead and got the Fury today. Still sitting at level 6. Still wearing gold paint (darn you Pix for making an expensive paint job that matches my username...). Tridents are levels 8, 8, and 5 going on 6. Its still on the bench for now, waiting come up to level 9s to break the starting lineup. I look forward to targeting reds from 600m someday soon.

1. ....The Trident Carnage is very rare in Top; both Carnage Zeus and the RDB Griffin are far more common (and effective). 3. The Carnage Thunder is not a mainstream top tier bot currently- too hit and miss. Perhaps the Ancile mod will change this, but while fun it's simply too squishy for the toughest matches at the moment. The RDB Griffin is a good half-way house for those that don't like mid-range if you're having trouble with hanging back. This does not apply to the Android meta. At least in the matches I see.

Today I got a task to do 400k damage with a heavy in one battle. One of the 40 gold ones. I loaded my Fury and played exactly one battle. Completed the task first time out. Did about 500k in just the Fury. Got 5 gold for damage. Then swapped out the Fury again.

Appreciate the alternative suggestions, but I have no Zeuses, and three tridents, so at this point it is TT Fury, or a 5th knife fighter. Thanks everyone for your advice. want to swap? I have 3 zeuses and no tridents.

I have 3 zeuses and no tridents. Damn, I would take that deal in a second. I also have 3 Tridents, 0 Zeuses. At this point there is absolutely nothing left that I want to spend WSP on, but still a few gold items I'd like to try.
