Perhaps I am referencing a maturity level that I inferred through observed behavior, rather than a literal description relative to the number of solar orbits completed. On the other hand, with such a small sample of behavior to be observed, it's easy to jump to conclusions. Time will tell. Your comments about the motivations and intentions of the administration of this forum HAVE NO VALIDITY. You are clearly using straw man arguments, fallacies of generalization, fallacies of appeal to popular opinion, and on, and on, and on, and on... you smell like a troll, maybe 3rd stage. If you wish to prove your claims of honorable intentions in this community, I would strongly urge you to pick friendlier, less controversial topics to start with. There is no "freedom of speech" here. Participation on this forum is a privilege not a right. The powers that be have made that abundantly clear. I am new here. I have been watching this little wiki site for over a year. I would have to give a solid 10/10 to this reference of rights and privileges. There always seems to be an underlying menace directed at those who wish to express an opinion outside those of the mods and administrators. Do I have proof? I could go track down dozens of interactions that I have witnessed but quite frankly don't have the time nor inclination to do so. Probably it is just better for me to say that I have been reluctant to join your happy little group for just that reason. Plainly said. You all give off a vibe of people who are deep into Pixonic's pockets and use the threat of banning people if they make you look bad to the Pixonic people. I've been pretty quiet on this matter but I'm going to put my two cents in.
As far as I can tell the wiki and the forum were created by those that love the game and wanted to create an online reference guide and place to exchange information for others. There is no deep in the pockets of pixonic. If that were tha case pixonic would have spun up their own forum and not relied on a free hosting service to push this out.
I have my own forum and herding all the people can sometimes be tedious at best. No matter what the community there will always be people that will disagree on any given topic. It's human nature. However, in the process of moderating/administering a forum there comes a point when specific topics of discussion can become self-propagating and they can and will consume a topic list of a forum. That makes it hard to navigate and quite honestly will scare off a lot of new arrivals. If people are upset about something spinning up topic after topic on a board doesn't do anything for the board other than pollute and poison the user experience.
Yes, Pixonic recently "legitimized' this by adding a link to the forum in the game. That in itself was pretty special. That should bring other people here and that has the potential to be a very good thing. But if a new user showed up here and saw nothing but eternal complaining, well they may not be inclined to participate or even to continue to play the game. No, things will not, nor should they be all rainbows and unicorns. If someone has a grievance they can air it, but it's far more productive to contribute to a single thread than spin up a new one repetitively. I don't think the moderators have shut down some all threads about matchmaker complaints, but they have stopped the topic propagation about people complaining about how unfair matchmaker has treated them.
Moderating a forum is not the easiest thing in the world, especially if you want it to stay alive.
I'm just a member here and have no stake. I do not know what's going on behind the green curtain. I just enjoy the game and have got some really good advice out of here. It's not a requirement that I read each and every post and take it to heart. It's just a forum that's self supporting by those who contribute to it... so yeah, we're eating our own dog food here. I sure hope we like what we're feeding ourselves.

I am a member of several boards... and I have to say this is, by far, the most lenient. FFS it is a board about the game. The best setups (an arguable term to some degree, that word, "best") and best bots for given situations. Tactics once on the field. Game winning strategies. Etc. They have the job of keeping the forum on topic. The recent changes have been 100% an improvement for me, and prolly made their VOLUNTEERED time here, less hectic. Personal ramblings: I have so many times wondered how they haven't banned a lot of folks that at any other forum they would have been gone by now. The flamers and master-baiters will have their fun until they can't anymore. Unfortunately, people who have genuine differing opinions will suffer more from the Obvious Trolls' actions, than from the mods' actions, as the Trolls wear down people's nerves to the point that it becomes hard to step back from the anger that they cause, and see the genuine opinion difference as just another troll... To the detriment of the forum, itself. I have been shutdown for offering differing opinions on things like setups, but rather than complain and open a thread 「female dog」ing about it, I stated why i held my opinion and moved tf on. Being right isn't about being acknowledged for it... say your piece, answer questions, but don't be a Richard Cranium about it. Just be like +DethHilt+ used to be... with regard to disagreements... "Shut up and Play." This game is on a freaking roller coaster right now, and the boards are a direct representation of just how screwed up it has become. Which has done the most damage?... Pixo vs Clubbers/Tankers?... the chicken/egg, first cause and effect arguments that keep going? I say it doesn't matter. I point out the wrong from either source, as I see it, and state my opinion, regardless of who calls me a pixo "apologist" (I love you Blast! ;* ) or who tells me I'm an idiot that has no business behind a tablet screen shooting things. Just my pitiful opinion... take it fwiw... throw it away, put it in your pocket, wipe with it... whatever tickles your pickle, floats your boat, trips your trigger, or helps you sleep at night. Just don't get mad when a forum, a place that has every right to decide the content that is displayed there without infringing on freedom of expression in any way (make your own damn board if you don't like this one, no one is stopping you!) decides what it wants to keep the subjects focused on. And gee-willakers, lighten up some... mods are not some position of authority, meant to be held up to the masses as beacons of purity. They are strictly, everyday people, who guide the forum onto its intended path. Now, see y'all on the field... red or blue! |

I laughed pretty hard when I was accused of mini-modding as that is exactly what they allow to occur on this board if you fall in line and are one of the boards “friends” The first wave are the board fans and it’s easy to see who they are. They typically come at you with things like “You’re a troll stage 3” or some other tactic meant to turn the thread into a flame war and take it off topic and thus getting it shut down or moved. Typically involves “Disliking” your post as if that actually means something. When you make it past that, a mod may come in and give the appearance of listening to you. Then the board fans flock back in and “like” the mods response and start trying to talk about things unrelated. Again, taking your thread off topic and setting it up to be moved or locked if you continue. It’s actually happened to me when I made a thread about a mod. The above 2 tactics are on full display in that thread for anyone who can read. Now to be fair, it didn’t get locked or moved in this case, however the thread was taken off-topic and the mod actually participated in the off-topic comments. Now if the above doesn’t work, then the mods start complaining that it’s a thankless job that they do and they are only human and they don’t deserve all the conspiracy talk and such. They accuse you of wearing a “Martyr’s Cap” and call you “Son” trying to instigate something and again derail the thread. You will also see more board fans at this level saying how they think the mods are doing a great job and that they run similar systems and are much stricter, etc, etc. Now the mods will defend their comments as saying they are entitled to their opinion just like us. I have no problem with that. I do have a problem with hypocrisy however. |

I think most will agree the moderators are human, so pointy something out that they may not even be aware they are doing, isn't a bad thing. Personally I might not always agree with the moderaters on their views, but I do respect them. I agree this forum is a lot better than many out there. However never hurts to keep them on their toes to keep em honest. |

I think most will agree the moderators are human, so pointy something out that they may not even be aware they are doing, isn't a bad thing. Personally I might not always agree with the moderaters on their views, but I do respect them. I agree this forum is a lot better than many out there. However never hurts to keep them on their toes to keep em honest. If there's something that y'all don't like that we're doing, or have suggestions, we're open to feedback (in fact we welcome it). We want to keep the forums as a welcoming community, but sometimes we may seem harsh and not realize it (we're human after all), if there's something we're doing that doesn't seem right, please let us know, thanks So.. is this thread still about criticizing the mods or is everyone attacking someone else? To be fair, I think running a Zenit/Nori Natasha is dishonorable, but that doesn't mean it needs to be removed from the game. Tanking will always be there, but it shouldn't be encouraged as it was in the last MM, and now in league. The last two changes have just further enabled, encouraged and rewarded tanking.
Btw, I kind of see his point with not wanting to be lumped in. You didn't give an option for people that just don't give a crap. When given two extremes, most human beings naturally select the middle option, no matter what it is. The original survey had two extremes, with a middle option that was skewed towards the opinion of the OP. It was a loaded survey.
That said, I don't understand why someone would get so upset about being lumped into a meaningless survey. It's an opinion poll, nothing else. But I guess for argument's sake, he had a valid point.

Ah. jump on mods. Doing work for free. Running a wiki with 1000's of whiners. I would bet if one was pacified a thousand other would cry and moan. Don't start threads beating them up. Frankly 99 percent of anyone's opinions is garbage.
