I suddenly feel that there is no point of running the workshop, except for perhaps getting the level-up bonus (31 LVL was 3.3M Ag).
There is no silver to upgrade what I already got from the Royale + BM + workshop since the new economy (listed below more or less in the order of getting them):
a Weyland,
two Chimeras (for Weyland, now deeply regretting ... haha),
two Avengers, a Lancelot,
a Falcon,
a Bulwark,
a Mender, the second Spectre,
two Sparks,
a Corona,
a Viper (a lucky haul from a SC), etc.
The Weyland (lvl9), one of the Chimeras (lvl8 ...), and the Mender (lvl8) are the closest to servicable levels but not yet there. And I'm silver-broken. Essentially, I realize that I haven't replaced nor upgraded any gear I actually run in battles since the new economy (and still doing fine, perhaps due to the recent change in league point system).
And I am soon going to get a Glory and an Exodus. But what's the point if I don't have Ag to upgrade them Anyone else leaving the workshop idle for the same reason - lack of Ag and a backlog in the upgrade queue? The Ag reward for WS level-up won't compensate the Ag spent to level it up.
Perhaps, I should also start opening bronze or silver chest. I was into gold chests after getting a few 6k components, but now they all look worthless. I need Ag (and Au),

My iOS account haven’t touch the workshop since the Ag task reward removed, before that I just make the cheapest components to get the Ag reward. My Ag is low and my hanger are all level 12 or MKII. There isn’t point to get new bots/weapons when I don’t have Ag to upgrade them, especially they need months to complete a bots with new weapons, eg, mender with Halo and Corona need around 640m Ag and 8 months to level 12 without speed upgrade, Mender could be a weak bots by the time. Why bother?

I ain't ?fluffernutter?ing with that ?dookie? after I get the persuer. Silver is never enough for this game. Leveling stuff at 9 is for broke ?bum-bum? people like us it's like a standard rental car at a fixed price.

Honestly, the better question is who is actually using it? I would have given up on this game a long time ago if I didnt have old economy stuff. Pix had the right idea with WS 2.0 whenever it was first introduced but now why bother? I would like to get a mender but the time for completion and silver cost is way too high. I haven't touched any of the new stuff and never will. Pursuer is my newest and last thing that I will level. I've got most of my weapons mk2 12 now, working on getting bots to mk2 and then will be done with all of it. I play an hour a day and can barely keep upgrading old economy stuff.

There is no silver to upgrade what I already got from the Royale + BM + workshop since the new economy Hint: change your game. Play with level 6 weapons, on level 9 bots (for max speed). Suddenly you can play any setup you want, and upgrade any new stuff you get in reasonable time. Somoeone wanting to do this could switch today to their unleveled gear, and let MM start dropping them to where this gear belongs (with 5 slots, Gold or Diamond, I think), while upgrading the new gear towards their set low targets. I don't really recommend a smurf account for this particular purpose (playing with new gear), because new players have no access to the new gear (without spending a lot of money), as the new WS2.0 is so slow that Gusts and maybe Avengers are perhaps the only semi-meta gear one can hope to produce during first several months of playing (the Black Marked provides plenty of legacy bots and gear with reasonable key grinding, at least).

My nearby Workshop is opened all the time 24/7. Once awhile i went in there and tried to ask for some components. But the boss shooed me out, asked me to get a job at the battlefield and come back with Silvers. Yet the current warzones are so tactical and sophisticated that the Colonel rejected my application as obsolete frontliner. So I'm left with no choice but to play some Tricked Cards with the crowds and sold some stolen Royale Tokens at the Black Market sometimes.

I did your way of playing weak old school hangar like golem gareth and forgot to hide my MK2 weapons in the other hangar, my rank went down to expert and pix suspended my account for potential "tanking" and put me back to 5000 league points. I explained to them and got out in 1 day, but league is setback to 5000. So yeah, your way seems reasonable but it's actually tanking if pix have the data of your MK2 stuff. It doesn't matter you use the MK2 or not, if you own a lot of MK2s and sitting in diamond/gold, even though you decided not to use them at all pix can still suspend your account and put you back to 5000. Basically, you own some MK2 stuff, you are not allowed to go down below master 3, if you do that's 100% intentional tanking in Pix's eyes. You may play 999 games using a lvl6 hangar, but the moment you pull out MK2 to try it out for just 1 game, you are doing crimes. I suggest don't do that, your account will be at risk. Pix is slowly doing things about tanking, a lot of extreme tankers(gold league below) are slowly dying out. Even MK2 at expert is at risk. Plus the new point system, I think Pix is doing the police work underground.

Since I am trying to collect one of each Robot, I still use the WS. I do not plan on leveling them all up significantly. I do a have a few old economy bots that are L12 and I keep two or 3 in my hangar in order to at least make a good show of it during games. I will put a low level bot in my hangar just to play around with it. I try to take one of my lower level bots and make it a project and just focus on bumping it up to nine or ten ( I have a Pursuer project leveling up now ). This half time show during the event has been quite helpful the past couple of weeks. The new upgrade times are painfully long and costly. But the amount of time it takes to upgrade is about the amount of time it takes me to rebuild my silver stockpile after spending for the upgrade. Unless I use gold to speed the upgrade process, which I have been doing during this Holloween event in order to take advantage of the shorter upgrade times. So my silver pile is not as high as it was before "Holloween". I also "watch" the time reduction videos which helps speed things up a bit. As of this post I am approximately 2 hours away from being 200 components shy of a Bulgasari that I have been building in the WS. The wait times for the Bulgasari components are also rather long. Which also helps with recouping the silver paid for the components. I also mostly spin the bronze chest as it seems to give out silver, gold and tokens more often. If I spin and win a bot I sell it and it's weapons right away as I already have all of the bots that are in the bronze chest.
I play this game for fun, been doing so for a bit over a year. I don't drop wads of $$$ and I think that those who do are spending money for nothing. I do however appreciate the folks who spend the big bucks as it keeps the game online for people like me. So Thanks for that!
I just take my time and build what I can with all of the free stuff that I get from Pix.

For the same reasons as eveveryone else, it takes silver and i got so much crap to level anyway. For that reason my workshop is not leveled and when stunshotguns appeared, my level was too low to get them. Luckily i got them from chests, so no worries.

Tanker is people who has weapon level way above the league he is in. There can't be tanker in champ league A player give up match doesn't mean he is a tanker, could be something happened IRL or he is trying to balancing his league points to avoid over advancing. He could be using a lvl 9 Hangar and compete with lvl 12 folks, if he play his best every game and try to score top 2. But he could also give up some games and put himself with folks with lvl 10 stuff and actually enjoy a fair fight. That's not even close to a tanker. Unless you see MK2 12 in low master league or expert, nobody should be called tanker in champ league. What do you mean by tanker? I want to hear more of your story.

I wonder if they'd have a different take on it, if all your low level gear was the new gear, and you were leveling them up. If they think doing that is bad, while releasing new gear all the time with ridiculous upgrade times and costs, now that would be funny. "You got a <new fancy bot>, great! Now pay up or you aren't allowed to play it."

Not using WS here.. Fully spending all silver to upgrade my gear (mostly the grandfathered), and didn't regret it even once. My all gear is now mk1 lvl11-12, and some are mk2 lvl11-12.

Wow, I thought I was the only one..
Concentrating on upgrading what I have.
I prefer faster upgrades and longer components time becouse stuff is just come in in too fast and loses it "uniqueness" or whatever..
It's a little overwhelming..
I just leave the workshop empty right now and get what I get at Royal or black market while upgrading what I have and maximizing it's playstyle before bringing in something new.

Silver acquisition lately is no obstacle for me. My average damage is almost 1m per game without boosters. I have stacks of boosters now from clan awards even. AND, if I can suggest something that nobody ever listens to. Some weapons are carry weapons and some games are early weapons. If you sit around trying to max out dragoons etc all day long, you just gonna get tired and frustrated. Get some Zeus, they are almost as good and way cheaper. Instead of a bulwark , get a natty throw some cheap guns on it, and use the savings to level up your intermediate gear. It’s no secret as to what I roll with ... Ie raijin, what is less known however is why. Raijins are CHEAP. They provide mountains of firepower for bargain basement prices. Plus I got way better playing with garbage , than I ever would have with a premium bot. So my recommendation is go over the item costs. There is actually a method to pixonics madness. Just trying to max the best weapon will make you frustrated. My 2 cents

I haven't used the WS since they took away the daily challenge to craft 600 comps for 500,000 Ag. I don't have enough silver to finish upgrading the gear I have. Surely you don't think I have enough to run the workshop.

Mine was idle for weeks...yesterday I started 100 components for a Glory. I just don't have enough silver during this event to upgrade what I've got and keep the WS churning.

To add to what was said above:
I was going to go for a Bulwark but won a Fury from a Gold Chest. Sure, now I have to grind out three Fluxes but I'll don't have to produce Bulwark components or upgrade that expensive new bot.

Mine has been idle for the past month and most likely will stay that way. Silver has been used on the Halloween reduced upgrading times.

The two working hangars (in the signature) haven’t changed since the new economy. I have been running upgrade 24/7, but couldn’t replace any of my oldies yet. Perhaps the Mender will be the first followed by a Bulwark. My Weyland is level9, but I cannot figure out what to replace in my two hangars,

Full speed ahead on both my accounts, but I don't intend on going above 9/9 on anything, or 9/8, or 8/8 if I get really pissed about the speed of upgrades.
I am not actively playing and in the process of changing hangars, so, in reality, I don't give a 「dookie」 about the time component of things, as I have plenty options to spend my free time.
I'll get there, regardless of WS past or future changes.

I got what I wanted out of it already which wasn't much. Honestly I got just as much out of the black market this month than I did WS. All AG is going to upgrading what I have, I'm done chasing. Turns out Punisher/Corona Spectre is pretty good, who would of thought. No need to chase the meta.

My Weyland is level9, but I cannot figure out what to replace in my two hangars, Currently I play 1 booster set a day obtained from clan tasks. Or about 2 hours. Some days nothing, weekends I occasionally play more. Like today, I really vegetated. I got up, drank some coffee did some work trying to de cypher 3D software so I can repurpose it, after I a few hours of mental agony and many coffees later, I ran about 7 hours of games )it’s the weekend here now I wanted to punch out all the ag boosters I got and finish the battle awards in time. So I did about 40m today . The trick earning silver is thus: Don’t focus on staying alive, focus on beacons and aggression. IF YOUR TEAM IS A BUNCH OF COWARDS, ITS TIME TO GET OUT OF THERE ASAP. You can be quite as fast as a death squad, but you can run 5 minute games, which is decent. Always know your goal. When I grind, my win rate goes down, and my score goes up , who cares. Only score and size of your wallet matters. You can always enjoy the fruits of your labors later and massage your win rate later. 9 times out of 10 I just take 2-3 beacons with either weyland or pursuer. Most of the time they don’t even bother to stop me. The last game is getting clan stomped, in which case I’m guaranteed high score and most beacons, resukting In 7-10 points for 2 minutes of getting it rough for 2 minutes of work. Re: replacement bots. I’m currently using 3 raijin , 1 weyland and 1 pursuer. After I finish off all my heavies , I’m thinking I will max out a invader and replace the pursuer with the 747. I don’t like his armaments, but it’s fatflies thru the air with the greatest of ease, and has tons of health. I may just put my extra raijin in again, he’s all maxed out with embers now

As for what I upgrade, I just go down the list. I’ve got a stack of crap. I literally just go down my list. If I don’t have 2 of it, I get 2, or finish off components till 10k My thinking Is, under current economy, these things will never get used . So what... pixonic changes the economy and balance all the time. Better have supply for when they run double upgrade speed promos like now. You never know when you might need it. I already look for the best deal. Prior to changeover, avenger was a steal. Stuff like that. I focus on lower hanging fruit over top shelf. You need to upgrade accordingly. If I can a bot maxed with sun optimak gear for half the price, I do that. Then the bot is playable and 20% below par for 50% of the price.

Thanks for the post I am curious: - what do you make from your workshop these days? Do you plan to replace your trademark Raijin hangars? Obviously a Weyland was introduced. After the Weyland, what are you focusing on the workshop? - I would love to see some videos of Weyland action. Do you run it as a brawler or mid/long-ranger? - how many hours do you usually play per day? This could be the difference - I cannot play more than an hour in every a few days due to real life About your other advice, yes, I run a Natasha, a Doc, a Galahad, etc, with bunch of ancient gears, level 11~12 (mostly 11) and doing rather fine when I am playing random mode solo in the low C league. The two working hangars (in the signature) haven’t changed since the new economy. I have been running upgrade 24/7, but couldn’t replace any of my oldies yet. Perhaps the Mender will be the first followed by a Bulwark. A Pursuer looks quite a good addition to Raijins and Weylands. I wish I could play 7 hours at one point :/
Back to the point of this thread: after adding the Pursuer, what do you still make in your workshop? The Invader must be a great addition as another spider bot, but we cannot make it in the workshop yet?
And I would like to see how you use Weyland in games you actually care to win (i.e. not in the griding mode nor against those squads). What are weapons you put on the Weyland?
...
Edit: I totally agree with your comments on the upgrade. I basically do the same 24/7, with a few projects in mind. But this thread is not about upgrade, it's about whether to use the workshop or not (when you are silver-poor and upgrade-backlogged),
