Played a couple of games today to garner a mere 500k Ag for next upgrade...as 'Joliet' Jake Blues said: "Jesus H. Tap Dancing Christ, I have seen the light!" Pix has succeeded in driving me, once a paying customer, away for good.
Game is too chaotic in that I have no clue of which robot is shooting what.
I don't understand how a new player has any chance to develop a hangar in under a year and there is no joy for us old timers...game should wither and die on the vine sooner than later.
Thanks everyone for maintaining such a vibrant community.
Will try BoT when it's more refined.

Because this game is turned into a crafting game rather than a shooting game.
First we craft a bot for a month then weapons for next couple of months. After three months of crafting we need to atleast upgrade them to lvl 9 each which takes next 3 months, that's 6 months for a single slot. But at this point pix release a new op items make our only gear useless. This cycle continue..
This forum is the proof that this game is more crafting and less shooting. I see more Than half the questions about how to or which item to craft.
Looks like pix took heavy inspiration from Minecraft.
Adios amigo..

I agree it has become too complicated. With rooting damage reduction and corrosion you will have up to three timers on your screen counting down a effect.
Rally the 3d UI is in the way. We need a more data driven interface, were we see every parameter as a number.

Come play mech wars... it's pre release and super basic but heaps of fun Haven't played a game of War Robots since OP... don't miss it. Tried Mech Wars, tutorial was buggy so didn't get past that. Tried Robot Warfare Online... didn't get past upgrade screen with offers for $59.99 robots. They have the gall to do that as a new program, at least War Robots waited 'til they had millions hooked. Still digging Fortnite and PUBG at the moment (mostly because if my 8 year old). I'll update periodically.

B.o.T. is out and I've installed it on my phone but haven't had a moment to play yet. Will update with first impressions.

Mini review of my experience with B.o.T. reposted from another thread:
TLDR: both games suck...I'm out
They're about the same...
...in that they're completely different and I don't like either.
B.o.T. is not a War Robots replacement; it's more of a shooter type game where xyz aiming is finicky, the HUD hurts my eyes, and rocket explosions (which are numerous) completely obscure your view of the battlefield. Bots are clunky in movement in an annoying way, controls aren't intuitive, can't tell how much damage you've taken, and the HUD hurts my eyes (which I've already said but it bears repeating).
Oh, and the whole idea of line of sight targeting (for you and your team) is probably more realistic but doesn't translate well. I feel like it's the same problem with flight simulators...the more realistic it is, the steeper the learning curve and less fun it is to play save a few hardcore players.
My 8 yo played a game...paused...and finally said, "it's hard."
It definitely would play better on a bigger screen and probably should be a PC/console based Mech Warrior type thing. If this was the direction these developers wanted to take War Robots before they left, I'm glad they're gone and am only sorry that Pix got greedy and monetized everything into a P2W clusterfarg.
Played a match of War Robots to remind myself of why I liked the controls...game was unplayable... can't tell who's hitting me with what...ship has sailed...I'm out...
Thanks everyone!

BoT is too hard to play. his 8 year old said so. The amazing thing about War Robots was it's ability to appeal to different types of gamers. Yes, my 8 year old and his friends enjoyed War Robots and could be successful at lower levels. B.o.T doesn't hit that sweet spot for either of us. Does that offend you?

BoT took a few games to grow on me... but once I got comfortable with it and understood the amount of versatility you can have with builds, I began to really enjoy it. Maybe give it another, extended, go?
Either way, good luck!

I do not disagree with your main point: There have always been more posts asking about which item to craft. I did it when I started two years ago - I did it 18 months ago in trying to decide between a third galahad or a first lancelot. People fixate on equipment because it is easier to talk about than tactics.

If you want my advice? don't worry about anything beyond T1 while you test it out... and pick a theme.
For example... do you like light bots like the Stalker or Cossie? Well... get a Shon and try focusing mostly only speedy items. Like accelerators and light armor (which actually boosts speed), etc. Stick with manglers and the Fulgar (EMP). Once you get the pattern of movement down, you can dodge almost anything while advancing on your prey. IF you are after a bigger bot, dance around him, EMP them, and kill them... or maim them by shooting off all of their weapons if you want!
There's a board focused on BoT now, and a large Discord presence, and even a Line room with some recognizable faces from here if you want to learn more.
If you decide you don't like it, at least it's free to try!
And if you do like it, everything is grindable except for specific bots. Right now the Mite is a whole 19.99 for a fully T3ed bot. Once the new one is fully released, it will be the real money one and the Mite will become grindable. At least, that is how I understand it.
So, other than buying the EC needed to upgrade or Premium, there is only one purchasable item at a time.
Also, while you deffo get benefits from upgrading, it's possible to do well with a T1 against a T3 as long as skill levels are similar... so you can experiment without investing time and EC into T3 items. But once you decide on a path, you have to be committed since removing some upgrades (like faster reload) destroys the upgrade, so it's best to do the experimenting with T1 stuff.
Hope to see ya around!
IMO, YMMV
