Anyone else tried Mech Wars? It's currently pre-release on Android for testing and I sort of love it!
Started 2 days ago and am hooked! So simple, so brawly.... The engine is still a little clunky but I have high hopes for it!

I have tried it a month or so ago. Liked it for idk, 10-15 battles. Got a couple of mech wars punishers for my 2 little bots. Then the MM went all crazy on me, I was clubbed brutal, everyone had medium and heavy bots except me, like mk2 tankers in bronze league. Did they fix it?

I've tried it. I love the forest map, and I like the 3D aspect of the game where every bot can fly to a limited degree. I have a hard time flying and firing though. It's ok. Its nowhere near War Robots in terms of over all game play. I haven't played enough to be clubbed by anyone yet. Most of my enemies are still bots, and even though I have not upgraded any bots and weapons, I do alright against those. I'd say it's comparable to Robot Wars in terms of game maturity - with the edge going to Mech Wars ever since Robot Wars last update where they buffed all the bots speeds so much that it's not a mech game anymore but CoD with mech skins.
I'm keeping both on my phone for now just in case they get any better.

Just recently they MASSIVELY increased HP on bots for a while. I'm running a maxed Ovec Sparkle (that is actually what it's called - lol) and was topping 4M damage in some matches, so much silver.. lol. MM changes all the time as they test things, but it's generally pretty good. |

I kind of had the same thing happen, but it was those guys with the laser sniper rifles everywhere and I wasn't even a high enough level to buy one and fight back. I still have it on my tablet, with like 800K banked, I just wasn't sure where to spend my money. Do I keep fighting losing battles until I'm a high enough level to buy better stuff or keep upgrading what I have. Kinda the same dilemma in War Robots. |

You can always get a brawler in somewhere, sniping and MR still work, especially as you can fly up and pop off some shots, but the 3d terrain means on EVERY map, you need to be extremely aware or the brawlers can get to you. It's got a LONG way to go before it's anything like War Robots, but of all the clones I've tried, this is the only one that made it hard for me to put my phone down! |

The lasers burn out REALLY fast (you have a heat load and can only take so much when firing), but machine guns can shoot almost constantly and have the best overall DPS of any weapon (yeah... I built a spreadsheet - lol). I started with the beginner bot with Dominators, then moved those weapons + 2 more to a Sark. Now I'm running a Sparkle with 3 of the medium machine guns (Ovec) and it TEARS them up. 52K damage per second  You just have to fake them out til they miss with those lasers, or the rockets fly by you then smash them. Having a blast |

There is no limit on ads watched, so I just save all my silver while playing, then when watching Dr Who with Mrs Flash, I'll just sit there ticking over ads and levelling up rigs I've only used 3 builds - Hawk Starter Bot, Dominator sark and now a Oxec Sparkle. Hint Oxecs are bugged and currently can be upgraded to max for almost nothing  |

1. Will your account be grandfathered once it’s officially released?
2. Do you think MW will be cross-play compatible? I’m primarily an iOS user but if I start on my spare Android phone I wonder if I’d have to start all over again on iOS (assuming the answer to #1 above is yes).

I don't expect to keep my account but that being said they ARE selling gold.. that being said Gold is bugged, I currently have -677000 gold. Lol. For all I know it will disappear forever tomorrow! When Planet Commander changed over to Space Armada I was able to keep my account and all the goodies, but I did hear that some players were receiving refunds. I'm not sure who or how much, but hopefully if I invest time & effort into this game I'll be able to keep everything.
