Has anyone tried this with success? I've seen those around and they're quite fun I bet. I think it's more of a player having fun with sub-par setups. Dont let one get up close though

More complete answer: storms are useless outside 50 meters and ancilot is too slow to get inside 50 meters. “Might” work in silver but no further up. Might

I haven't used Storms since the recent buff, but have been seeing them a little more as players feel out the change. Got my stinker handed to me by a Shotgun Griff yesterday. It was fun though, the recent buff to the Hover helped me hold up a little longer. The Lancelot also got a buff and I faced waves of them yesterday as well, but I can honestly say I don't remember seeing one with Storms.

I run a Lancelot with Storms and a Thunder. I kept 2 level 10 storms in storage from when they first came out and I realized getting past lvl 10 was a waste. With the recent buff I figured I would slap them on my also buffed Lancelot. Overall it is great for BR especially when so many reds are running plasma weapons. I can sit there and demolish just about anyone who is using a plasma weapon when up close. Especially in an insta-spawn when I lose my current bot and know they don't have Orkans. This is just until they pull your match selection option. Once it goes back, the Stormalot will go back too.
I also enjoy literally walking half a map towards a ST-Spectra who does not realize the shield deflects it. Maybe a noob or just not knowing but he kept trying. Got in range and melted him quick. Great for those Haichis or other ancile bots trying to take a beacon. 3 blasts and no more shield. If with other blues in a battle, I take down all the anciles.

It's alright for lower leagues and short range maps. In the right situation it could be pretty good.
The main problem is that you have to get really close with it, and the Lancelot, despite its recent buff, isn't really meant for getting in closer than 150m to 200m range. And explosive weapons will just destroy you. You would be better off with Orkans, Tarans, or Scourges, as it's much easier to obtain 300m or higher range.
Still, that's not as bad as some setups I've seen. I once encountered a Chimera/Hydra Lancelot in Champions. Even for KotH, that was...interesting.

Lancelot is a little too slow, but I tried Ancle + Storms on my Inquisitor, and that thing is FUNNNN. Nobody expects you to jump/stealth right on top of them and start leveling people. I've snuck in and jumped into crowds a couple times, and completely leveled the whole crowd with it before. I kinda stumbled on this build actually, I started with a full ambush "shotgun" Inquisitor, with Thunder/Storm. That did pretty good, but was really squishy, so I replaced the Thunder with an Ancile, and never looked back. Love this setup.

I need to try the Scourges on my Ancilot and the Ancile/Storm Inquisitor. What do we even call that?

I run 5 Ancilots, my most effective setup so far is the storm build. When it comes to Ancilots I feel the best setups are
1) Scourge 2) Orkan 3) Storm 4)Taran 5)Ion or Tulumbas
