Why is it that I can be killed by a Thunder Carnage rushing straight at my Galahad when my shield is still intact, but when I try the same thing in my Thunder Carnage against a Galahad, I do 0 damage?

what range are between you? if you are >300m away from carnage the thunder shots will have spread and some pellets will hit your head instead of shield, aka u take damage. However, if you and carny are very close then thunder will have very narrow spread and all pellets will hit the shield instead

You forgot to put up your shield and back peddle to keep distance while doing side jukes to throw the aim off?
In my experience, close range, due to Galahad's high shield health, my 7/9 carnage can only take its shield and maybe half its health at most. Gareths will die so the best they can do is not engage within 300m. If your Galahad is forced into close range, juke around so the thunders won't land fully on you. I noticed that when my carnage aim is a little off due to movement, the damage done to the red bot is reduced quite a bit. 300m, both bots will eat carnage up if they are plasma.
One of my favorite bots, even though his health, speed and shield are all lacking, he has great damage potential. That speed boost does help with engagements and ambushes. I hate fighting thunder bots with it, especially thunder Leo or Lancelot. I smile when I turn a corner and a red Griffin or Gareth pops up.
One game, I turned a corner as another bot turned his corner. Was hoping it was the pesky stalker I saw earlier, nope, thunder fury guarding the beacon. My carnage died so fast, he even alternated all 3 thunders and sped up my doom, he must have practiced that, tap tap red firing button.

I don't know about you not doing damage, but thunders go through shields shield doesnt cover whole bot's body, so due to wide spread of pellets, some hit body directly

I think there's two possible tricks to this, one is the bot clipping through your shield and technically firing through your shield. The other possibility is by running up your body, the thunders are slightly above your shield and you're not being protected by it.
I also see it happen quite a bit.

My guess is that this is one explanation for at least some of the situations. I don't own a Carnage but I have done it with other bots. You can sort of walk up the bot and shoot them right in the face.

My shield was up. Could have been a range difference. I started my rush at about 150m. I think when the Carnage rushed me, it may have been a bit closer, like 100m. So that could have accounted for some of it. I guess maybe there may have been some damage lag involved in my attack, too - I never went back and checked after I re-spawned.
