Thanks to the SKILL challenge last month I was lucky enough to win my very first Spectre. I took it out for a spin and made a video highlighting my first few matches using this bot. Hope you enjoy the video, and laughing at all my mistakes as I’m learning to pilot this beast.

Most fun game mode (not "best" concerning the meta) is definitely KOTH. Why? You might think there are too many speedy bots. But even the speedy ones think they're safe in the beacon zone. When caught unaware, it's so satisfying to drop one hit nukes on them. They NEVER see it coming. And as a bonus, it's very rare to see spiral bot in KOTH simply because there's too much cover. And most people don't play this mode with spirals in mind, so your only true enemy is pins and shocktrains. With the new game-mode selector, I've been having a blast in masters.
Shenzen -> just get on the roof and hammer away.

Shenzen -> just get on the roof and hammer away. I actually enjoy KoTH. Never understood why so many don’t. I have been thinking about making a aphex hover just for the annoyance factor in valley, dead city and shen Aside from it previously being a force mode, what makes KOTH terrible (to the general War Robots population) is how there's only one center beacon to cap. Bigger maps are the worst because no one fights. Yesterday I played a game on springfield. I got 600k damage with a drag fury. The second highest person in the whole match had only 115k damage. Was nothing but kumihos and striders on both teams zipping point to point - too scared to fight each other at center.
Also predictable beacon spawns made it worse. Although KOTH is perfect for sniping noobs with a drag fury or slaughtering them with aphids as they sit still on point, the new upcoming rework I will definitely be looking forward to when it's released on the live server. More action, speed won't be as big a determining factor as your ability to maintain area control will be.

I guess for me, I was never bothered since I really didn’t know different. I've only been playing since June. I kind of enjoyed the fact that scoring was not damage based. Granted I like to try to do high damage and high points for collection. But, it was a mode that was a little different from the others that kinda just rely on damage. I play on test whenever it’s available, and I think the changes will appease maybe half of those that dislike the mode. The other half, I’m pretty sure nothing would make them happy. Ive been playing FFA almost exclusively lately, just because it forces me to become a better pilot. I’ve learned way more about all the bots and weapons playing FFA then I did rolling random, and it should make me better when I’m squaring in the other modes with my clan.
