Hey guys, I recently won a mender from some gold chests (got really lucky and hit the 6k comps twice!) and was going to level it up to replace my redeemer bulwark but I did a double-take: the mender is already really expensive to level and on top of that I don't have any good light weapons aside from two lvl 11 magnums to put on it (which from what people are saying don't work well on the mender). I do have two lvl 8 gusts and some lvl 1 sparks, but they would take a long time to get ready for it.
Then I thought that maybe the weyland would better suit my hangar, due to the fact that I already have two lvl 12 redeemers to put on it (I love the redeemer, especially in pairs). Plus I was thinking that the weyland's playstyle would be similar to the bulwark, with lots of hiding in cover and popping out to blast an unwary pilot and then returning to cover to recharge the shield/health. I have a good portion of a weyland already and could get the rest from the new workshop.
I know that the mender is most likely the better bot but in my situation would it be worth it? Or should I go for the weyland instead? Thanks in advance for your time and help!

If you run in a squad and like to camp Weyland. If you like to move and have fun the Mender rocks with a shot build I have also used scourge spark but it is not as fun. Remember to time your ability as you go into battle the damage reduction can make this a viable brawler when used correctly.

Scourge/spark is probably more powerful but I am not about to waste months trying to get another scourge and level it along with a couple sparks. Only thing I don't like about the mender with shotguns is that you are extremely vulnerable to scourge, shocktrain, dragoon, etc.

Menders are more versatile than Weylands imo. They can heal, brawl, cap beacons, etc.
Weylands can do one thing really well, and that's it.

Hmm.. something tells me you're spot-on here and I think I will go for the mender even if it is more expensive. Going to run a shotgun setup as Logan has suggested. Thanks guys!

I've been running a shotgun Mender for a couple weeks now. Lvl 10/11 gusts/storm, lvl 8 Mender in low champs. It's not bad, it's a decent brawler when played well. It's almost like a gust pursuer that can heal teammates and you kind of have to play it the same way. Funnily enough healing counts toward your damage totals each match so you get artificially inflated damage.

Both are great, depending on your playstyle. I love my mender and it's in sad shape but I've seen mediocre weylands do amazing things.
Dealers choice.
