I run a mostly level 9 Brawling hangar in expert 2 iOS. My second hangar is long range but the bots and gear are not levelled in that hangar at all so I only run my brawler hangar. This is making yamantau very difficult especially on TDM mode
What strategies do you employ on yamantau if using brawlers? Especially when the reds are mostly sniping? The limited cover and long distances make it really difficult for me

Patience patience patience, count on the reloading to move closer and on the rest of the blue team; running out bellowing your war cry won;t help

Depending on enemy positions, you can try going wide (far left/right, outside of the bridges) to try and move forward and then circle around the large structures from below to try and flank the snipers. I think there's actually more cover available for moving forward on Yam than on Canyon or Springfield.

Shield bots, preferably bulgasaurs.

I know there are certain parts where the terrain offers some cover.

Being patient is sound advice. You may be loosing 3-2 in beacons for half the match, but all it takes, is one successful push and setting up a good defence to win.
Shield bots help, as it has been said already. If you face many midrangers/snipers, try to block LOS while advancing. There are "safe" routes to choose regardless of spawn point. Against a well placed enemy team it can get really difficult though. Try flanking under the covered bridge. Plenty of cover there. The open bridge is more of a midrange battleground.

Use the center structure. You can defend center from the ramp, and use the walls as well. The more snipers they have the less runners they have. Take center quickly and they will have to advance somehow. Some will drop their snipers. Others will just expose themselves trying to get a clear shot. All sniper teams are never hard to beat on beacon control modes. Just don't fall into the trap of hiding and not advancing.
Do not let them control your mindset. That is a snipers most effective tactic. They control the field not so much by shooting bots as by making bots not want to get shot. Learn angles and fire times. It might help if you did a custom game and just walked around to see where you could best avoid LOS while still advancing. And there is always the "1 gunman vs. a crowd" logic. If everyone rushes, someone will get through, but then you run the risk of walking into a beacon/spawn bombing trap.
The best tactic is to always to attack your opponents strategy. If they plan on sitting back and firing off pot shots, then make it to where they cannot win without changing their tactics. You will instantly have an advantage as you are in effect dictating their actions and can thus predict and plan for them. That is exactly what they are doing with the snipers. They know they can't win by sniping, but they can easily take advantage of your natural response to being sniped.

Use the center structure. I use center only if we urgently need the center beacon. Otherwise it is IMO much better to go just outside of the broader walkway, on the ground. It take a bit of time to get there if you spawn at C, but once you get there you're perfectly safe from snipers and midrangers. If you spawn at E then you'll get there much quicker, but have less cover.

Another key tactic: WORK WITH YOUR ALLIES!!!
Advance alone, you die alone. Let your long- and mid-range allies provide covering fire--and draw some return fire--and you'll have a much safer advance into brawling range.
As always, mobility is important...a Haechi can advance much more successfully than a Leo, even against Dragoons and Shocktrains.

I run a brawler hanger and I just play hide-and-seek around the center structure. The more patient I am the better I do. Itâs still my least favorite though. Sometimes I send my pursuer down the far side for 「dookie」s and giggles.

I must be in the minority because I think Yamu is my favorite map. I would bet I've gotten more wins and top 3s there.

I sense a connection there ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Learn how to use the walkways as cover and you'll start loving Yama. Center is way too exposed, you'll be fired upon from 2 sides. It does protect from stupid snipers lining up near their home beacon, but if you're playing a decent team then they will come at you from both sides.

There should be enough ample cover getting to the center structure. Advance in cover and keep pace with the main force. Choose positioning where you are covered by your teammates. Always help out a teammate that is engaing wether you get the kill or not. Stay within your strengths and the law of averages should kick in.

The limited cover and long distances make it really difficult for me Advance from tunnel to tunnel as best as possible... try to get people broadsides as they advance or take them on 1 on 1 if they enter the tunnel. Can also camp on ramps and fire from defilade, which afford some cover from snipers, but you can take on people on the top deck.

Shield bots, preferably bulgasaurs. I agree 100%. What do we know about Yamantau TDM? That the great majority of both teams drops range. And what can range do against brawlers closing in on them? Die is what they can do. Nothing beats Scourge Bulg on Yam TDM for this reason

Invest in some tulumbas! 500m is enough to be able to cover the center

you can hit reds who are hiding on the ramp with 350 range weapons if you flank them on the sides under the bridge. Even better with Tulumbas. When everyone is looking at you, your squad mates can move up the center. If they don't look at you, shoot them or go for their corner beacon.

In champions league tdm on yam, I can usually take a bot or two around the back of enemy spawn. Pursuer excels at this. I killed 3 fury/butches from behind the other day doing this. So satisfying when it works.

Back in the day it seemed I got Yama a lot and it is still a favorite. Got my butt handed to me frequently until I learned the terrain and added a long range bot to my hanger.
