Hi all, as the title suggests I'm chasing help. Ideally I'd like to build a hanger to take on all maps and all opponents. Sitting on the sidelines I have 1 Griffin, 1 leo, 1 Natasha and heaps of other weapons, including 2 aphids (5/6), a magnum (5),a Zeus (5), 2 nashorns (5/5) and 2 thunders (5/6). When I first found this forum a few days ago I had this After reading the pro tips thread I built my win rate up to 64% but then I got hammered down to 54% so now I have this I'm hoping by the time I get pitted against the tougher guys again I'll be better prepared. P.S. I'm currently upgrading my magnum to lvl 7 and then I'll work on my trident.

Switch the Griffin Molots/Spirals to Taran/Magnums. Switch the Vityaz out for a Boa Thunder/Orkan. Switch the Molots on the Leo to CRV Pins. Keep the Gareth for now but later on switch it out for a Griffin with Aphid/Pinatas or Orkan/Pinatas.

Might want to try a Boa. Thunder/Taran won't cost any Au. Save for 5th slot.

spirals don't do enough damage, stop using those. in fact, for the most part, try to use as much WSP & Gold weapons as possible.
also, the long-range game is something you won't want to use until later in the game, so i recommend you trade out the leo set up for thunder + aphids.
also realize, that no matter what you use, there is going to be a constant up-then-down-then-repeat in your matches, so there really isn't a 'bad' hangar. there are definitely some that are more effective, but you will eventually figure out whats good because its whats killing you the most. like once i got to 4/8 mediums, i found myself up against heavies, so i had to adapt by getting heavies. eventually i got 8/8 heavies & +300 avg dmg, then i found that i usually die by tridents & zeus, so now i use those.

I have two more pins aphids I can throw on the leo, I like the idea of a boa thunder/taran - only two weapons to upgrade. I really like how quick my Vityaz is though, I was thinking of putting two magnums on it.
If I went this way I could have a boa thunder/taran, a Vityaz thunder/magnums a leo thunder/aphids/pin and a Gareth tarran/magnum and I could save gold for slot 5.
Thanks guys!

With that lineup, here's what I'd do:
Swap the Vityaz and Leo in their roles. You're right, Vitz is fairly quick. Slap the Trident and two Pins on there, and that's your mobile midrange bot. It'll go places faster than Leo, and midrange is ALL about lining up a good shot. And getting the heck out of Dodge if your position is threatened.
All those Leo hit points are being wasted. Leo isn't really the best at anything, except doing everything tolerably well. However Leo's best setup is still the Thunder Pinata combo; at point-blank range it has more burst firepower than a Lancelot...at least until the Pinatas are empty. Even at base level, three Pinatas plus a Thunder is a pretty hefty payload. And Leo is survivable enough to walk up to an enemy and unload in their face.
Keep Gareth as-is. Like mine so much (L8/8/8 plasma setup), I just bought a second. Which is armed with plasma and will be leveled to match my other Gareth. Gareth is Da Bomb.
As far as #4, the Thunder/Taran Boa is good, as others have suggested. Or you could throw the Zeus and three Pins on that spare Leo and run two midrange...not usually recommended to have more than one, but it can be done.

Cool, I'll try that out. Someone else recommend the trident/pin combo for the Vityaz in my welcome thread. It seems to work quite well. I tried the short ranged Vityaz variation but it doesn't last long once it gets in close, I made a few bots try and flee though.
I also think I'll give the second leo a go. I've got it already and I won't need to buy anything extra.
Thanks for all the great ideas everyone, you have all been tops!
Edit: oh yeh and I agree, Gareth is Epic!

Nice! Make sure to level that Trident to L5 soon, or you'll be costing yourself damage dealt.

Yeah that is a very good start... You can switch up the mid range weapons and try them each on each bot to see what you like better, then I do suggest knocking it down to one, but then again, you will be matched according to damage dealt, so, you may be better off right now, with what you have. Honestly, my overall advice, fwiw, is to take what has been said here and run with it. You are learning about how weapons combined with the right counterparts perform, and you are learning the bots that work well in the meta. Don't be afraid to try different setups within the guidelines given to you. The Trident Pin combo is a good example... 3 main Ag bots that people use for that setup are: 1) Leo Trident + 3 Pins 2)Vitz Trident + 2 Pins 3)Golem Trident + Tulumbus + Pin Out of those, the Golem is my favorite, then the Leo, then the Vitz... but that is what is so nice about this game, what I like may not be what you do, and you can try anything you want I agree with Ron, get the Trident leveled ASAP. You CANNOT judge its effectiveness at that level. Also, that Zeus can fill in the same spot as the Trident on each of those bots. So, I think you have a very good start, now take it a step further as you learn how these setups work or don't work for you, and make them YOURS. Good Luck!

I'm curious on how that Vityaz would perform once the Trident is upgraded. It's not a Carnage but It looks like a decent placeholder. But for a placeholder shouldn't the Golem work better?

I would personally run the gareth, leo, griffin, and boa.
Gareth always, it's a great beacon capper with that shield. Use it to skirt around the reds and cause some of their units to divert from the front lines. Boa has high durability, use it with a thunder and taran. Leo has high durability, use it with a thunder combined with pins, pinatas, or magnums. Possibly use the trident and pins on it for a nice mid range effect and the thunder on the boa. Griffin with tarans/aphids or magnums. Orkan/pinatas. Tulumbas/pins
These are the main types of combos you should be going for right now. However, this is all up to you and your play style. That is just my personal preference. I always ran my Leo with thunder/magnums but you'll see more outfitted with pinatas for knife fighting I think. I just preferred the continuous fire from magnums.

Yes and no. Yes, Golem has "more" firepower. However the Tulumbas takes longer to load, and the Pin cycles at the same rate as the Trident. Thus the Vityaz will always be cycling its entire broadside and won't have varying reloads to worry about, as Golem will with the midrange loadout. And then when you compare the two bots in speed and HP, Vityaz doesn't really lose in speed and easily wins in HP. It's a close match, but in my opinion Vityaz has an edge.

He only has 225 victories and no 5th slot. He can't afford an 2 orkans much less 1. Gotta think from a new player's perspective.

Hey guys my trident was level 5 when I woke up this morning and now its on it's way to level 6. so I've been busy battling. My damage output is much better and now I'm earning gold from time to time. I'm contributing more in battles now and I'm more able to defend beacons. My win rate has dropped because of a few games where as a team we were outplayed. But now I feel I'm helping my team and not being a burden in matches. The Vityaz seems to do well, I'm still getting the hang of hitting with trident. I think I'm missing with half the shots. Most of my recent games I've dealt over 400K damage, which is twice what I was getting before. Now I can plan for my 5th slot. Thanks everyone.

Yeah don't bother with the AT Spirals there are very ineffective at mid-to-high level play.
