This was a fun game .... then came the shocktrains

I felt the same when I was a noob.But you adapt (maybe get a couple? )I thought they were just unbeatable until I ran some ,believe me I get killed EZ so much so that my ST.Bulgarsari is now a Taran Bulgi. Wait til you face clans of whales with mk2 Spectres,not fun but really I feel mk2 is the real culprit.

Sounds right, but... and that's where the rub lies, it forces teamwork (2:1 attackers vs defender), use terrain as cover, understanding weapons and ranges, taking advantage of spawn points, and making sure you build bot/weapon combos correctly. Always build bots with at least 3 hard points. What else can you do? I just got a Scourage and use it with a Hover/Votex/Aphid build... it's rain and lightning from above....

Run a Punisher Galahad   It feels good to push them to a corner with a perhaps 100 times cheaper gear, until ... one of them come up with Orkan Spectre,

I don't mind pay to win, These companies don't make games for the fun of it, there needs to be a profit, and im 100% ok with that.  I've never bought a mech or weapon, but in the 6 months ive played,I've bought about $50 worth of keys here and there.  and $50 for six months of a game is totally worth it.   but anyone who wants to drop $100 can get a spectre with 4x shocktrains.

The thing about shocktrains that makes them particularly stupid is the train part, or the range, either one should be tweeked. you can't expect a random grp of people on a game (which has to be like 90% or more of all games) to suddenly coordinate, with the right mechs at the right time, to counter whales needing easy kills. 

whats the answer?  I can only speculate, but my idea would be to significantly decrease range.  if you want to do big damage, bypass shields, and hit multiple people people who aren't even within line of sight or even locked (I mean, comon), then you need to scamper your little butt a little closer.  it should have 300m range.

Yup, agreed, been saying that. Biggest mistake they made, imho.
