I wasn't sure where to put this, so off-topic it is. Its possible to disagree with something yet not advocate for its ban. Banning everything people don't like is the sure path to problems. Who's to say everyone agrees that said forbidden thing is wrong? I realize the Admin staff are the ultimate arbiters around here (And I think they do a good job) but once the mob starts clamoring for heads, things can get ugly. Most of the time agreeing to disagree is the answer. Not easy, I know, but necessary. If a group(or higher authority) decides said thing is ultimately bad enough to censure, by all means, go ahead. Until then, go easy on the ban-hammer. After all, next time you might have the minority opinion. Just some food for thought.

Wish I could like this more than once.
Edit: 「fluffernutter」 autocorrect sideways with a rusty chainsaw.

Lately, we've been getting spammed by reports made by a certain person about another certain person.

Lately, we've been getting spammed by reports made by a certain person about another certain person. The one who openly tanks and brags about it, and is somewhat confrontational? Or the holier than thou troll (now *there's* a combination) who thinks he has the right to tell people what they are and aren't allowed to say? Are there limits to how abusive you can be to other posters? Because IMO they're way over.......

You have a valid point, SlowReflexes. People can be obnoxious. I'm guilty of it myself, sometimes. But my main point still stands. Freedom is a pain in the 「bum-bum」. But it's Good. I've fought for the right of other people to hold different opinions from myself, even when I knew they were dead wrong. It's a topic near and dear to me, and I felt like expressing it. Nothing big, nothing fancy. Just thoughts.

Or have the complaints been about the goofy, Sicilian redneck with a propensity for profanity, not posting content in the appropriate sub-forum, and bad attempts at humor? That guy is a total doucher.

Nothing big, nothing fancy. Just thoughts. Oh you're right and I agree with you. I hate that, 'if I don't personally agree with it then it should be banned' mindset. It's unhealthy, bordering on evil. As for the other, just responding to Strayed. This is a forum, private property like a house. We're all guests here in someone's house. Manners apply, and so do property rights. The house owner, or his agents, can certainly evict rude guests. Probably should if he doesn't want all the *other* guests to leave to avoid the jerks.

Bingo! That's also true. One of the reasons I try to be polite here and on Flexpoint's Discord is because it isn't my house. I abide by the rules set forth. Or try to, heheh. Some individuals lack in the upbringing department, I'll grant you that.

Thanks OP. Well said. As a forum, the whole point is to share different opinions, points of view, and info. If we all just posted how much we agree w each other, this would also get pretty dull.
That said, it is important to express your different opinions and even ur facts in a respectful way. The point isn't to zing each other. It's to express views that maybe someone else hadn't thought of.

I'm probably close to getting on the fecal list. I'm not exactly the most peaceful of individuals, and cause more than my fair share of friction around here.
