I am almost done lvling weapons to level 7. (Current hanger below) I can purchase Rhino and can fill rest of hanger w 6 level Ag heavy bots. I am less than week away from 5th slot.
Will this even work effectively 6/7 heavys or do I need to wait until weapons are level 8?
I am past impulse buys & have 22k is WS, would rather keep options open (15k for Rhino) if it will not be usable until weapons are at least 8th level.
Your thoughts please

It worked for me.
I was playing high bronze/low silver with med bots lvl2 with lvl7 weapons. And I switched directly to lvl6 heavy bots with lvl7 weapons, worked well for me. From there I proceeded to upgrade weapons until lvl9 before upgrading my bots to lvl7.

I did not like level 6 heavies. I am using level 7. I forget my original reasons but I think some combination of 1) the speed increase between 6-7 was significant, and 2) the matching medium bot level (for my weapons) could be 9+ which is max speed

^^ True that, lvl7 gives you speed boost. But the problem lies with your weapon level, I personally always try to keep weapon level 2 levels above bot level.
So unless your weapons are lvl9, I would advise against upgrading bots to lvl7.

It can still turn out well OP... All my heavies are 6 still, and I run a different combo of 7-8 weapons depending on what the other bots have, and you will find that while most of the competition is consisting of level 8 and 9 bots, the weapons rarely are. Add in the fact that you are likely pretty good since you have taken the time to figure all this out, and I feel you will be hitting top 3 on most of your matches. I typically have at least 2 or 3 mediums that are my go-tos, and they can carry you if the heavy doesn't work out at the 6 level. Either way, I think you will be pleasantly surprised! But I wouldn't fill it with heavies just yet... ease into it, a Griff or two is a good start.

Also, if this is a thread diversion just ignore the question... but how do like that mixed Pat? I assume its loadout is hemispherical due to the fact that you could corner shoot better with one particular type of weapon rather than having 1 mag and 1 pinata? Just curious as I have always looked at the main pro of a Pat is the fact that I could run 4 of 1 weapon. It does seem to make it easier to have mixed ranges with your configuration... the way the buttons are on the screen, it seems it would be easier to just fire the right and left sides separately than it would be to fire just the top or bottom hardpoints separately.

You need a 5th slot! 6 for heavies is a bit low, bump up at least for now. If you need weapons like mags and Tarans grab em. Grab that Rhino.

First, Thanks for the feedback!
To answer some ?'s
tricky48 - Mixed-Patton, I saw on the battlefield. Looked interesting, I like variety - like to run different bots in active hanger. Ran it a couple times - felt like a trainer version - I like full impact of all rockets or mags (more effective for my style).
dethhilt - You know it! At $4700Au right now! CHOMPING AT THE BIT FOR THAT SLOT!!! Take my agression to new level and that close match at the end if you had just 1 more bot!!! Just a couple days. Then figure out best way to spend 28k WS.
Got around 80Au from pumpkin boxes. So close to bot to many times.
