What's the purpose of tanking? To lower your damage % correct?
Why not just practice using 'alternative setups ' instead?
Suggested setups: Natasha/boa/leo nashorn and mallots Spiral patton/gep Hydra spiral griffin Zenith noricum natasha
You get the idea right? it'll save the frustration of having people dropping out of games while you can do as little damage as humanly possible .. kinda like the good old days of the previous mm because in all honesty I rarely see dedicated artillery or snipers since the new mm took over.
All I ever see is tridents...

Correct, tanking is to lower you average damage score. When you tank, you only have to be in the game for 1 minute, this is much faster than waiting the whole game out with a Natasha. Tankers want to lower their damage score as fast as possible. Tanking 1 game a minute, allows the tanker to lose several hundred-thousand damage, in their average damage score, in a hour. This often lets them use galahads and lancebots against stalkers and Cossacks.

First, by leaving their teammates one man short. Second, by clubbing low level guys, with stuff, those couldn't afford. Best is, they call that tactics. Great, isn't it?

All I ever see is tridents... What you are describing is just a slower more painful version of tanking. You are handicapping your teammates by running those bots and you will end up hurting many more teammates while achieving the same end result. Some people prefer to pull a bandaid off quickly while others enjoy prolonging the pain. But don't try to kid yourself, if you are trying to lower your avg. damage you are tanking. I'd prefer to now immediately if I am down a teammate as opposed to having a worthless bot running around and not contributing.

I'd love to see a Natasha with Mallets! (would energy shields work on them, I think not).
In seriousness. I'm against the whole idea - but Hydra / spiral griffins can do pretty good damage when leveled up - and help win games.

Go pure beacon capping. I'm at 80% wins on a pure beacon capper. Gives me 5 gold a game

Instead of getting low-level bots, I got high tier bots but very bad pilots. I guess I had to go further south to get that.

I'd prefer to now immediately if I am down a teammate as opposed to having a worthless bot running around and not contributing. I see it differently than handicapping the team. It's filling another useful role other than knife fighting with the intent on lowering your average damage per game. I believe it's beneficial to the game as a whole to be active and tank versus a hard-stop to your performance. Keep in mind that if there's enough of an interest on alternative configurations that pix has been known to buff/reduce weapons. Maybe some of the tankers will like a change enough to play these setups full time and effectively alter the game rather than the monotonous journey of the same cookie-cutter bots/weps. I like your point though and appreciate your input.

A spiral hydra Griffin or hydra Fujin gets you a garunteed 200K - 250K of damage per round Good point A hydra takes 12 seconds to reload, 4 seconds to unload, and i believe a 2 second delay for a total of 18 seconds. 10 minutes *60 seconds = 600 seconds in a game 600 seconds / 18 seconds for a cycle = 33.33 volleys 33.33 volleys * 2174 damage per missile = 72459 damage 72459 damage per missile * 18 missiles (on a hydra fujin)= 1,304,269 damage per round I've never used a hydra before but knowing this sure does make things interesting because even if you could only lock on to a target 50% of the time and of that 50% half was blocked/missed you'd still be doing 326k damage spamming missiles across the field annoying people lol Then again these are number for lvl 12 hydra

I've been working on Rhino, Rog, and Carnage piloting, and load outs. Playing with the spiders a bit too.

Funny I was going to post something similar to this but searched zenit first. Had a hunch that 'Instead of Tanking' would be right up the lines of what I was looking for.
This could just as well be labeled "The Only Guide to Tanking" too. Either way though.
