You probably should have picked a game to highlight where you got a beacon point or two, but I agree, KOTH brings out the worst gameplay from randos...

The key to KOTH is winning the fights for center, but everyone just wants to run around and pigpile each other on home beacons. It is what it is.

Depends who's on your team. I play rounds in diamond I where I am the only one preemptively going for the next beacon while the rest of my team just stands in the middle shooting. I score low damage cause I spend the whole round sprinting in my gareth hoping I dont get smoked by Orkan Spectre at the next beacon.
Also, there really should only be two center beacon fights a round unless your team is asleep at the wheel.

If the game is close, it will be decided by who holds center the 2nd time it lights. 9 times out of 10, 4 blue randos all rush to home beacon just before the crucial fight for center occurs, ensuring red wins. But the game is flawed to begin with, since the team that has to cover a beacon before center is at a disadvantage every time. |

I really like KOTH because I only focus on damage getting last place every time.After getting Spectre there has not been a game where I didn't go up the ladder except KOTH.I'm in no rush to champion with my 8/8 hangar and I'm not going to tank so if I could play koth for all my games I would.

I sometimes do with eggs; or once is crispy, I leave the fat in the cooking pan to fry some onions as well a make a burger worth his name. The biggest KOTH issue is that the beacon that gets lit after center determines who wins the battle 90% of times (the other 10% is attributable to general idiocy) in all 2 - 1 - 2 maps, because it means that beacon hogs have the entire other team turn to get to center. In 1 - 3 - 1 maps like Dreadnought happens the same but at least if you bring more firepower to the center beacon you can conquer most of the 3 central beacons to offset this disadvantage.
A solution to this would be that the cycles are reversed colors in the 2nd round: assuming a 2 - 1 - 2 map, or B - C - R for blue - center - red, the sequence should be:
C - B1 - R1 - B2 - R2
C - R1 - B1 - R2 - B2
and C til the end of the match
conquering your beacons and center slightly more than twice should net you enough points to win the game. So at least the team that got the initial disadvantage are at more advantage at getting the final C beacon.
BTW KOTH is quite fun and challenging when playing squads, no even need to comm, just players that are there to win instead of hogging (useless) league points.

Yeah. KOTH is the worst game mode. They should now start letting people choose a particular mode not random. It's been ages since I've played domination. And I hardly get to play TDM because of the crappy koth and br

This thread is so timely for me personally. In "random" mode this morning I had to play KOTH 9, yes you read that right, times in a row. I despise this game. I play all out all the time, yet I watch team members not have dealt a single damage point and top the scoreboard. They literally won't even engage the other team.
I hate it, so much so from the lack of feedback to my comments in the game, the poor performance and monitization of the same I'm ready to just remove this game all together. I completely agree with the monitization comments people have stated. It has gotten beyond silly.

OP, might wanna try to ya know.. be "king of the hill".
People get upset cause they can't kill their way out of it without playing the mode by it's own rules.
Rarely will a KOTH last long enough to win thru domination.
Frankly I do think the mode should be reworked but not in such a way that damage 「loose lady」s are top rank.

I think my point is fairly simple. It's a war robots game, war robots fight. When you have a war robots game where people can win without fighting seems kinda counter intuitive to me. Create a "run from other robots and hide to win" robot game, and leave "War" and "Fight" clearly out of the title or name. TRUE KOTH implies we fight.......seems pretty clear to me. Plus, stop calling it "random" when it is obviously not. 9 times in a row is the opposite or random. It is purposeful.
