As the title says, I need a bit of advice on a good device to play games on at under $150 U.S. or so.
And please, no comments about Apple devices. I certainly respect your choices of OS so please respect mine as well.
I recently bought an Amazon Fire 10 with Android 7.0, and it's pretty good but I'm aiming for a bit better. Something in the 8"-11" screen range. I'm trying to decide between a regular tablet or a tablet/keyboard combination. Anyone using a RCA tab/key combo or similar?
I've seen a bunch of devices on eBay and Amazon but I'd prefer some firsthand accounts on what devices are working well for players and those that do not.
For example I have a Samsung Tab 4 that is absolute crap at playing any control mode app games like War Robots or Planet Commander. It just will not keep up a continuous movement or continuous fire and I am constantly having to re-manipulate the controls just to keep a bot walking or firing. So that device and its ilk are definitely off my list of desired choices.

Let's be totally honest here: As the 2018 "basic" iPad is just about 300 Euros/Dollars now, it's a package that is really hard to beat. Build quality is great, battery life is great, display is gread and precision of touchscreen is also great. I still have a 2013 iPad and it works perfectly and even the battery still works with only 10% capacity loss after 5! years of heavy usage.
You won't find anything better for 300. Android tablets on the other hand, in the 200 Euro range, usually only have 2 GB ram which is, with android, somewhat problematic and a lot of tablets I just had a look at, have an older Mediatek Quadcore CPU. That won't give good gaming performance, so:
You don't buy the tablet to use it for just a few month, right? Advice: Get a highend Android tablet which you can enjoy some years and also examine before you buy, if you can run LineageOS* on it.
*It's a community version of Android and by using it, you'll get OS updates when the manufacturer of your device won't release updates anymore.
Edit 150 or less, even 200 won't buy you something you'll enjoy.

I've got a chromebook (Samsung) that ran me about $350 that has the flip out keyboard. The largest advantage (that I haven't really tried out yet on it) is that it automatically offered me PC simulation controls with the keyboard deployed. That means: - Ability to aim with a mouse - Ability to map weapon firing combinations to the left and right buttons - Activated abilities are a keypress, not a tap And -THAT- Is something no Apple device can do. I know it is above your price range, but there are options out there that will do the same thing for less.

Know what that is, do you? How does your 350 Dollar suggestion help, if his price limit is 150 or less? Do you even think before you write? What I'm saying is that you won't get a 10" Android device with good performance for 150 or less, suitable for playing games.

You may be correct that $100 won't buy you a gaming tablet that matches your standards- In which case you find the best that his budget and preferences will buy, not schill for the ghost of Steve Jobs.
Move on.

Move on. Geeez. I just tried to classify that for about 300 you get nothing better than the 2018 version of the Ipad. Furthermore, I have shown completely correctly that you don't get an Android 10 inch device sufficient for gaming and at 150 or less. In fact, Apple offers more tablet performance for 300 than is the case in the Android world. You can believe that or not, although I doubt your technical competence anyway, since you started nonsense directly by pushing me in some "fanboy" corner. Which is nonsense. I use Windows, Linux, Android (which is basically based on Linux), used Windows Phone, know Symbian. Oh, what am I talking about. You are in no position to even begin to understand why I am making this or that recommendation. You read "Apple" and go crazy. Why don't you just drop it?

Translated with www.DeepL.com/TranslatorBlah blah.. last word...blah blah not helping... blah blah I've got this <fruit based genitals> in my mouth despite the polite request to not <fellate> the <Genitals> of the mighty Jobs. I've run Ubuntu, windows phone, played with Symbian. But I don't have to lord my knowledge over someone who asks a simple question. I can also respect their requests instead of playing <big but tiny genitals> on the playground. Good day, sir.

And you're helpful by suggesting devices that: "Gaming isnât really the Tab 4 8âs strong point and requires some compromises here and there. For example, complex games such as Asphalt 8 require significantly reduced details to run smoothly while Dead Trigger 2 runs just fine at 30 FPS. Casual games, such as Angry Birds, are no problem at all." www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-Tab-4-8-Tablet-Review.257896.0.htmlYeah, that's helpful. Now shut it, dip「dookie」.

Right - I offered him what was available in his stated price range. I'm the bad guy....
Keep <fellating> your e-<genitals>. Makes you look super adult and <dookie>... You can't even color inside the <fonricating> lines or listen to the OP's request. Instead you <produce feces> on it an tgell them they are wrong.
You're kinda a <british slang term rhyming with what>.

What you did on the other hand, was giving misleading information. The first two tablets you suggested are total crap so if he would listen to your so called "advice", he'd waste his money. The moderation will deal with the rest of your ejaculations. Bye, pal.

I find almost this entire conversation humorous considering the OP's signature line. That said, any more conversation between [CK]erazor and SweeneyTodd in this thread will result in some time off. You've both given your advice and have hijacked the thread. Nothing more needs to be said.
Thank you.

Damn. Seriously. Damn. All that I wanted was some helpful advice on a cheap gaming device.I certainly did not want a damn 「dookie」storm popping up. That is exactly why I clarified exactly what I was looking for and nothing else. Can't anything just be simple anymore?? 「dookie」!! Deadeye, please close this thread. It's just not worth the effort if this is what's going to happen.
