Hi, I'm really new to War Robots, I downloaded the app to my iPad mini about 4 weeks ago and I've been playing for about two and half weeks. It's very addictive! I've only recently started reading up about the robots, weapons, maps and the masses of other stuff on the Wiki. I can't believe how much information exists, and how seriously people take it. I love playing but have so much to learn! Well, nice to meet you all.
One thing I don't understand and I haven't seen anything written about it, is why friendly robots fire on one another at the beginning of a game. Also, if I get hit by this 'friendly fire' does it damage my robot?

Doesn't hurt you, As to why, a great mystery to me. Probably lots of reasons. Just don't understand them. Forgot the most important part, shame on me. Welcome.

Various reasons for FF. Rookies testing weapons hold down the fire button during the countdown. Big bang once the count is over. Players in slow bots are unhappy that you're faster getting to a beacon. Jumpy players shooting reds through friendlies and walls. "Wake up" "Get the beacons" "Stop camping" You have a Gepard My favorites are the pilots that spend the most time bugging others to play (by shooting at them) instead of hunting reds themselves. These guys are usually #6 on the scorecard.

One other reason people might be shooting at you is to grab your attention. Sometimes a friend in online and will shoot me to grab my attention and say hi. Sometimes, a teammate might have a plan that requires your bot's unique abilities or weapons.
Sometimes they are just being idiots.
