I found this place a year ago today. I'm still hanging around, so I must like it. The majority of the peeps here seem like decent folks, and intelligent, for the most part. Hello from Texas! Never forget.

I'm from Texas too, howdy!
I was in the Navy in the early 90s and went to Asscrackistan myself (2012 - Dwyer, Leatherneck, Kandahar) as a technical dude.
Got nothing but the utmost respect for the brave and especially the fallen brave.
Thanks for your service, thanks a lot!

Aye... While never going over, several of my friends and family did... some didn't make it back, those that did were.... different. Some pretty 「fluffernutter」ed up stuff over there... many folk don't have a clue.
Served from 99-04, myself. My neck will always be leather, but I hide my inner killer nowadays I.T. isn't really great for One Shot One Kill mentality... although the "mission accomplishment before troop welfare" aspect still rings true... 70 hour work week? Skip lunch? Expected. Is what it is. Anyway, glad you're around, and may your friend/brother in arms, rest in peace. *We must never forget.

Happy Birssary! Um, legally I wad never in the army and technically never had any army training. On paper it states "unfit for military service". In reality I was honorably discharged from Ft. Sill, Oklahoma because I (got someone really really mad) and they convinced drill sergeants I was trying to comit suicide. Not true but Captain told me that once that word is mentioned, no matter what, nothing matters. No turning back. Wash their hands of the person. So I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to actually serve properly, and great thanks to ALL who did serve. Peace.
