Hi guys, I would like to ask your recommendation for an android tablet. I have an Nvidia shield but for some reason War Robots doesn't run right on my device ( targetting sticks ). Anyway, War Robots is the only game I play and I feel that spending $400 - $500 on a Galaxy tab S3 is too much just to play War Robots. I wear reading glasses and I would like to hear some recos for a 9" - 10" device. I'm currently looking at the Galaxy Tab S2 which is about $100 less than the S3. The Galaxy Tab A is much more affordable, but I'm not sure if War Robots would properly run on it. Thanks in advance folks!

Don't get the Tab A for War Robots. Trust me. It used to just barely suffice... but as of... say 3.0 I think, it got HORRIBLY slow and clunky. Even a newer model. As more detailed maps and more and higher quality visuals get added... it gets worse. I WISH we could tone down the effects in a menu so we could run it across older devices more reliably... but we all know what fills up faster if wishing in one hand and ?dookie?ting in the other.
I have a 2015 Shield K1 for my Android account and it still does the job... barely. Here's my issues so far:
The heat build up and LOW battery life have made it almost a chore to play. It still runs well enough (besides the 20 or more seconds that it takes to equip or un-equip a weapon... still even after that bug-fix) other than that. The Battery life is so bad that I MAY get 5 games in without needing a charge. The heat build up while no charging is bad enough that my thumb actually loses it's sliding ability... friction begins to occur. Maybe this is your target sticking? IDK... Anyway, if I actually try to play with it charging, it's impossible... The heat is so bad it's almost untouchable... not quite, but almost. I don't play it plugged in as a result, which is good as that isn't recommended with most devices... but damn I would prefer to get a few more games than 5 or 6 before getting the batt low message.
So yeah, I think you are on the right path with the "s" model... or at least an equivalent model from someone else. I am interested in what you find... as well.

Hey thanks for the input, Tricky! I've been wanting to move to the android wiki clan but for some reason my nvidia shield wouldn't cooperate. The targetting or torso movement still sticks even after the latest update.
So that's a no for the Galaxy Tab A. .... Anyone else here playing on an android tablet?

I have owned four tablets for War Robots, the Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3, Nvidia Shield K1 and Google Pixel C. I've sold them all except the S3. The Nvidia Shield K1 and Google Pixel C (to a lesser extent) have overheating problems that renders the touch screen unusable. Samsung touchscreens are really a cut above anything else I've used. The S2 plays the game perfectly if you tone down the resolution a touch (guide here: war-robots-forum.freeforums.net/thread/12556/change-resolution-android-tablets-phones) but the graphics aren't as crisp as the S3 (which I also toned down the resolution to ensure that large amounts of Orkans don't slow me down). I really strongly recommend the S3, you won't regret it. I got mine open box at Best Buy for $350. Open box prices have gone up since then but I'd do it again. www.ebay.com/itm/Open-Box-Excellent-Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-S3-9-7-32GB-Black-/322989842856?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l4275.c10#viTabs_0As for other options the Huawei Mediapad M3 plays the game very well at max graphics, but it is 8.4 inches, not 10+ like the S3 if that matters to you. It costs ~$315. Do not get the Lite version. The Asus ZenPad 3S 10 Z500M is the other option and is $300. It runs the game well and looks good, but does so by removing shadows. It has power more in line with the S2 which does provide shadows but cuts other corners (texture resolution) to achieve acceptable performance. If you don't want to spend the money for a S3 and don't care about graphics the S2 is an easy choice. If you do care about graphics but can live without shadows the Asus works. But if you want max graphics on a dime the Mediapad is the choice.

totally appreciate the wealth of info, Bronze! Your post really helped me narrow it down. I guess if I wanted War Robots to look as good as it is in my ipad, then I really don't have much of a choice than to go for the latest and greatest. I'm now looking at some used offerings of the Tab S3 in ebay. The huawei mediapad M5 looks promising too. What do you guys think?

If you have an iPad already I wouldn't even bother.
Battle of Titans is coming and is cross platform.

I just upgradet (display broken) from a Samsung galaxy Tab A (2015?) to Huawei Mediapad M5 a couple of weeks ago
War Robots wise its a new experience for me i had a LOT of problems with my old Samsung that gone now
control issues? what are you talking about? Disconnect and "Lag" ? Sry to say but dont blame Pix Servers all the time, weak devices are a BIG part of the problem, im disconnected ones every 100 match or so not 3 times every 2nd match like bevor and the power from M5 can handle 10 Orkans at a time, a few 100 rokets won't bring frame rate down And its nice to know your not alone fighting for center because you see shadow of a incoming hover on the ground
Told my brother to better not play War Robots on my Pad if he still want to enjoy the game on his own Pad (Tab3) the difference is hough
IMSHO M5 over S3

The problem is my device. I 'm also considering the Huawei mediapad m5. It's much cheaper than the Tab S3 and in some of the benchmarks, it performs slightly better than the S3. So do you have to tone down the graphics setting on the M5?

So do you have to tone down the graphics setting on the M5? War Robots auto set graphics, as far i know there is no way to do it yourself at the M5 graphics are at max or close to i think, there are shadows, much more details at the maps everthing is sharp and clear One of the most important reasons for me to choose M5 over S3 beside the better price for comparable tech and a few other pros, was how it feels to hold it the S3 has "sharp" edges and is a little bit to thin M5 everything is rounded and smooth feels like quality im willing to spend money on, the S3 not so much

On non-Samsung devices you'll have to go through some hoops to do so.

Weird that you have problems playing War Robots with good mid-range tablets... I play on my 150$ Moto G5 smartphone and it works just fine.

I use an older model, the Galaxy Tab S2 and it works very well. I love the 10 inch screen.

tried War Robots on a Acer Iconia 10 it played pretty well. starting up the Game took around 1min 30sec to 2min ,all in all it Played well. for under $130usd a 10inch screen 32gb of internal mem it worked great.
got it for one of the Kids so they can take it on a School Field trip, no way i would let them take their Ipad or one of the Better tablets i have.

S2 is a whole different animal with high end hardware(for the time), A is a budget pad with low end hardware. Basically it has no power to render in a timely fashion. If you were happy with you S2, i suggest a new S model.

My War Robots experience with the Galaxy tab A was less than stellar.Very good in other respects but games like War Robots no. An Asus zenpad just under 300 bucks has given me flawless performance. I've seen good reviews for gaming on the Huawei Medi pad M3 but the Asus would be my first choice.

I recently bought a Huawei mediapad m5 and its terrific, i have no lag at all. Maybe the best speakers on a tablet if that's a plus.I give it high marks all around.

Many brands produce android tablets, like smasung galaxy tab S8+, Lenovo Tab P11 (2nd Gen), Xiaomi Pad 6, Oneplus Pad, and etc. I have a samsung galaxy tab s6 lite, I use it for both gaming and drawing, it's affordable and powerful. This post have some good recommendations: pctechtest.com/best-android-drawing-tablets
