Because your ancile is big enough for two leos, 3 gepards, and 2 gareths to huddle under like the only umbrella on a rainy day.

If you understand how shotgun bird shot rounds work, the pellets spread the farther you are. The ancile is so big it still gets hit by the spread. A bot profile is much smaller so it only gets hit by some of the pellets.

The Ancile bubble is 40-50m in diameter. The spread of the of the Thunder pellets Is well under that even at 500m. You can hit that big bubble from almost across Shentzen plaza with Thunders (I peek out from cover just a tad to deplete Ancilot bot shields that covering TT Furies so our TT Furies can hit both of them with at 2 of the Tridents).
This is the major flaw of the Ancile - that the protection bubble is so large that a Punisher, Molots, and Thunder basically are shield eradicator weapons along their entire range.
Heck, a smart quad Molot Griffin or Tri Molot Fujin pilot can make it their job to fire at any enemy bot with a shield HP status that is near a fellow blue bot. That will effectively zero out the red bot's Ancile and deliver any easier kill for the blue team.
Until the 2x damage glitch is fixed, I can't use the Ancile, as it's too easy for squading reds to zero it out (against randoms it's okay). After the fix I'll revisit the Ancil, but for now it's not an item that gives dependable performance.
