Oopsie, my blatant attempt was noticed! That said, yes, I apologize for bringing politics here. Lapse in judgement, won't happen again. and @earlcampbell -- Getting into politics here is against the Code of Conduct. Nobody cares about your political opinions. Regardless of which side of the aisle you tend to hang out on, keep it out of the forums. You're right Poopface , nobody cares about my political opinion (note that none was given, nor implied).

I was curious enough by this thread to look up Dragon Nest. Interestingly enough, their ad in Google Play has no mature content at all and just looks like your average run of the mill fantasy RPG. Maybe the ad in the OP is click bait and intended for people to download and install? I might give it a shot later tonight just for kicks. I've got one RPG game that I've messed around with, mostly because the combat views are different than the average RPG. Darkness Rises has different camera angles - more personal ground level instead of the usual 3rd person bird's eye view. It does have a customize character screen where you can take off all your characters equipment and moving the camera view affects certain parts of your character's anatomy...and you can also customize your characters er attributes to some extent...
Anyway, I ramble on...these things aren't new... sex and sex appeal sells. Just be glad that mobile games for the most part have their content controlled by either Google or Apple, so the really sick and extreme stuff (as mentioned in a prior post here) have a hard time making it's way to our kids' phones and tablets.

In this thread I posted the picture below and said, "I thought we were going to have a discussion about Asian playas."   What I did was not a meme about any kind of stereotype. What I did was a joke about the term "playa" compared to the title the OP had regarding "asian fonted players." In joking about the "misunderstanding," I found a picture of an Asian guy (a rapper, if I recall) who fit the general description of "playa" and used it. No stereotypes involved other than what may possibly be that of a "playa." Seriously, though. You're seriously trying to say that what I posted even remotely fits any stereotype of an Asian gamer? Please. You're reaching. |

Guys... I am not a Mod (obviously)... don't want to be. That's a labor of love with almost no thanks.
Here's the deal... we are in a forum that has only a few hard and fast rules as far as what we can't talk about. It's not a Religious nor a political forum... just a War Robots Forum. There are so many political and religious forums out there that would love more members to stir the pots of internet ire and damnation that those subjects tend to create.
There are very few places for the quality (and not so quality) discussions about War Robots that we have here. To muddy that up with the absolute division and anger that can arise from even a joke that touches on either of those subjects is begging for drama that will take away from the reason most of us come here. I am sure there is a War Robots Discord channel or Line room that will tolerate those two subjects... but leaving it like the rules say can only benefit us, as a community.
*I have seen places that have sub forums that require logging in to even view the threads, that have a "no holds barred" approach to the content there. Threads that get saucy get moved there. The thing is... it takes great contributions from the main site that even non-members can view and hides them in the place that some folks won't go because they don't want to read profanity and talk about religion and politics, when arguments about said subjects, arise. It is a fun place for those that don't care... but it limits the audience.
Just a perspective that I wanted to throw out there.
IMO, YMMV.

This is the most overtly misogynistic ad I’ve seen; targeting the ‘grab em by the fanny’ crowd. This doesn’t violate the 12+ age rating for this game?  When they LET YOU, you can grab 'em wherever you like. |
