So I won a Lancelot from my epic chest, but I have no clue what to put on it. So what are popular choices?

First off, congratulations. All won was nothing useful. All I have ever seen on them is Tarans or Orkans on the ends and a Thunder on the heavy hardpoint. Occasionally I'll see one with an Ancille on the hwavy hardpoint. There's not a lot you can to with it configuration-wise that seems to make sense. I don't have one, but that's my take.

Hydra ECU Zenit Lancelot. Be nonconformist.

The ancile orkan is the best setup in my opinion. I prefer the orks to Tatiana because it is more effective against other shield bots. Have fun w your lance!

The Lancelot really has only 4 setups right now - the Thunder/Orkan, the Thunder/Taran, the Ancil/Taran, and Ancil/Orkan. Any other setup has a better bot that can do the job better.
At less than 9/10 levels, the Lance doesn't have the HP or firepower to really perform against the gold/top MM ranks that you will see and the Lance will get trashed without really getting a chance to do much return damage (this is especially true for the Ancil setups).
If you can get the Lance to high levels, I'd go with the Thunder/Orkan if you usually play random or if you squad without a comm app (i.e. Discord or Link). If you squad with comms or you know you are very good at reading battle flow, then the Ancil/Taran works very well (otherwise it'll not bring enough firepower to a fight and get overwhelmed).
I feel that the Lancelot doesn't have a heavy weapon that matches well with the Tarans or Orkans and that's what makes it hard to use. The Thunder really only has an effective range of 125m, over than and its damage does not match up with its medium weapons --- the proof of that is that the Ancil is a viable option on this bot. The nearest to perfect heavy weapon for the Lance (and the Carnage too) was the test weapon called the Protolot or Heavy Molot. That weapon had max range of 800m and it it delivered 99K damage a clip in 12-13 seconds and a 10 second reload. A under 350m, the Protolot was as accurate as the Taran and matched it perefectly. It didn't match as well with Orkans, but at least it delivered more damage at 275-300m than a Thunder. If the Protolot ever gets here, then you'll see the Lancelot will reach its full potential.

one more option I did encounter was a Trident Tulu Lance. he did well, I guess.
10,11 or 12/12 ofc.
I dont face any other bots at the moment with my 8/8s...

I normally use Thunder Orkan/Taran but ever since the nerf I've been running Trident/Tulu and it's actually a LOT of fun. Dash gives you some control over range and the shield blocks a lot of long range.

Non Conventional but I have actually seen it a lot (I am 8/9). Thunder, Taran and Orkan. Does well against all comers but you have to keep your figure of the orkan and thunder buttons until your close.

I've run Ancil, Orkan, Taran on a few occasion. I have the Orks and Taran on opposite sides of multiple Ancilots. I normally use it them as my 2nd and 3rd bots and I'll choose Orkan on Right or Left depending on the map and or how opponents are configured.

Because on a lance they are far enough away from each other to matter.

Depends on your playstyle, I tried all different setups and I play with four Lancelot. These are my favorite setup to squad, on solo I switch two Lance out for a tulu doc and Galahad for mobility.
