Joe Pesci as Tommy DeVito in Goodfellas. "What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?"
Just because.

Jennifer Lawrence. I just think she makes the characters she portrays believable.
Daniel Day-Lewis. Saw him in 'Lincoln' and then Netflixed back on his prior movies. Loved him in 'Gangs of New York' and 'There Might be Blood'. He really immerses himself in a role.

Bud White in L.A. Confidential is a fave. I wonder if that means I have anger management issues? Or maybe just overly influenced by your profile pic?

My only complaint is that many of the lesser Jupongattana fights were short to side cast for time. I am a huge fan, as well, and I think you will really like them. The movies were never released in the US, so people can safely dl the movies for free, and dl a good subtitle file. With a little searching you should be enjoying them.

"This is my BOOOOM stick!" Bwhaaahahahahaa
Claudia Christian as Susan Ivanova in the Babylon 5 TV series and movies. Terry Farrell as Jadzia Dax in the TV series Star Trek: Deep Space 9. Pretty much got the same motivations for both, hence a bit of a tie...
I already have a terrible habit of falling in love with strong female fictional characters. Those 2 characters I've never been able to get over.

Adam Baldwin as either Animal Mother in Full Metal Jacket or Jayne Cobb from the television series Firefly and tie-on movie Serenity. Because who doesn't like them some big guns? Also...anything with John Wayne in any role. I'm partial to 'The Shootist' character John Bernard Books. Fun Fact: The Shootist was John Wayne's last movie before he passed away.

Wow... a movie thread! I'm a cinephile... I was so angry about the IMDb removing their message boards.
Anyway, I can't really pick one character as my favorite... I'd have to choose one for each general genre... but since Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Action/Horror is my favorite mixed-genre, I'm going to say Ellen Ripley (Alien) is my favorite character with Furiosa (Mad Max: Fury Road) being second.
Edit: Oh, and why? Because they're tough women! Edit: I have to mention Galadriel (The Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit) because she's my favorite non-human character.
