Are there any other mech enthusiasts playing the new turn based mech game battletech? I am still waiting for the game to finish downloading on steam.

I have been looking into the computer version, looks pretty fun, especially not having to bring your mechs around with you to a place to play. But I like throwing dices

I used to play the game back in the 90s as a turn based tabletop strategy game. Lol.

I'm playing games since 320*200 pixel resolution with 4 colors so I'm playing since the personal computer exists. The last turn based games I was playing was in the 90s so I guess I won't be able to enjoy anything aside from real time strategy or shooters. It's a shame, i know.

If I remember correctly, it's been an EGA monitor but most games just were few hundred kilobytes in size and used the cheaper to create CGA mode, as of course, the monitor could display multiple modes. When MCGA (320*200 with 256 colors) arrived, the real gaming started. Still play those from time to time in emulators. Best mech game ever by the way: MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat - this was in 1995 and those were the days:)

@flint8821 I have a dedicated notebook from the 90s for playing old games in the original dos mode:) From time to time I take some hours to recreate those days. It's great fun and after a while, you get used to the limited resolutions from back then. strayedYou're right. Thanks for moving. [CK]erazor Test. Wonder why tagging your names doesn't work. Okay. My browser or the forum software removes the first capital letter from your nicknames, which disables tagging. Tried to edit it a few times. Maybe it's a bug.

Anyone trying out MWO's new game mode, Solaris 7? Some people liking it but I'm not.

My last purchase from MWO was the Sunspider. ...which I got to say has a hit box problem. They really need to fix this. Its very easy to buy mechs in MWO, $20 bucks for a set of three variants, and you can get them with ingame currency later. However, its also too easy to buy trash. The game has too many mechs. The key is to sort out the trash and find the jewels. The Fafnir has been recently released. I am at odds on this one. This looks like a beast but I am not too hot about its hit boxes. May will release the Blood Asp. Anything Clan I'm a sucker for.

I miss the weekends of drinking beer, smoking weed, setting up maps, putting together lances and stars, rolling dice and marking those damage sheets. Sometimes we just sat and painted the pewter figurines and made foliage and buildings. My buddy and I had several tables we used to set up in our rent house and people came and went at all hours. On good days we'd set some up outside as well. Admission was a case of beer or soda. We had three fridges and a pantry completely full at all times. And your damage sheets were $0.10 each at the door if you didn't bring your own. That helped pay for incidentals. Our neighbors called the cops on us a few times thinking we were dealing or something(we were actually) but after a tour of the house and the occasional roach found in the ashtrays the cops left us alone. One commented that they'd rather see us playing games than getting into real trouble. I'm sure they knew we were dealing weed but I guess they figured we weren't the career criminal type. lol Man, do I ever miss the '80s and early '90s. My CB handle has been Mad Cat since 1988.

Still doesn't explain why the forum software removed the leading capital F from Flint, thus making tagging impossible. But it's not that important anyway.
