My goal ITT is/are positive ideas to the developers, stuff they can print and bring to the meeting to help our beloved robot game:
System tweaks: - Avoid all success penalty ideas, don't shove over matched enemies at me just because I win (what I see today) - allow 3 hangar's instead of 1 (same current system, just times 3, could be tiers again) - tune the MM to match competition levels inside tiers, not push a global 50% win rate (stop feeding my 6/10's to the 11's and 12's just because I win) - tune Gold payouts to reward higher damage, higher play, higher risk (half the gold for beacons and 0 damage is lame)
User experience: - invent 3 leagues or tiers or whatever again, let us separate ourselves, let us run what we bought, make us choose, not your software: - the easiest class (bronze?) can be lights, n00bs and Destrier and Cossack, no mediums, no heavies, no gold or WSP anything, all level 4 or less. - the middle class (silver?) can have mediums, all lights, zero or one heavy (Natasha wink wink) all level 8 max or so, no Fury's no Tridents etc... - the open class (gold? where you run anything you want, any level, any bot, any weapon, level 9 thru the TT
This allows players to keep and use all those premium items in high end play AND lets them use other items in other play AND lets them use beginner items if they feel like beginner play. This allows the MM to just organize play and level matches, not level the world. This allows match making to work, free of herding every level, every player, everything with some massive algorithm. This system is a genius expansion because, you can triple the bots and weapons allowed, with a minimum amount of change. This allows the game to continue as is, so you only need invent the class definitions, allow the three hangars, and run the same 2.5 game as is instead of reinventing everything. If you don't own open class bots, you can avoid open class play. This system structurally prevents seal clubbing, because you have to bring what the tier allows, no more sneaky mag gep builds slipping thru the cracks.
cliffnotes: - no rants - no pics of your hangar - no pics of enemies in red - offer help, ideas, suggestions, solutions - do not post a problem unless you also post an offer to solve it - brainstorming encouraged, go out on a limb like me

Nice post btw, I think this is what we all would like. Hmm... well, I think me and my math stand corrected. I guess my point is based on my current situation which is, I either go all in on cappers or I bring the house trying to take first. With my current equipment levels and such, there is no way for me to do both, so this is how I came to a 10... either 5 for winning damage or 5 for capping... yes on an individual basis. Also, thx!!

I think your middle tier is a little skewed. If you want to advance to top tier and that is your goal. This is the level where you learn to use these bots and weapons, so all bots and weapons should be allowed. And you left out Griffins, they start at level 6. Also mid range so you can learn to drive them correctly. And start your build so you can advance.
All bots and weapons should be allowed as soon as you can get them, it takes awhile to build them and learn their proper use and what style of play you want to develop. So you can advance upwards. A Rhino is tough to learn, especially with no reverse while shield is up.

I like most of the OP's suggestions. I would go with 4 tiers (1-3,4-6,7-9,& 10-12). You would also need to limit weapon levels as well there by eliminating 4/12 machines playing wack-a-noob.
Having a hanger with five 6/7 bots with 4 heavies and 1 medium there would be no place for me in the wieght restrictions suggested. I really don't see the need to restrict all but the top tier to 1 heavy bot. Particularly heavies like the Boa, and Griffin which can be bought with silver. Being in the old silver tier my hanger though successful, was certainly not dominating.
An elo system WITHIN tiers would be great. Higher rewards for higher tiered play would also be good.
I'm not sure what the upcoming "leagues" will entail but I hope it's something similar.

ok, so far my arbitrary levels are off (was an even split just to field the concept) and we can split into 4 tiers instead of 3, which is probably better, maybe the bottom tier is for starters only, with a max level on everything (player and bot and weapons all must be X or less)
like it... I'm down

I give you credit for taking the time to post this, and your thought that went into it.
However, Pixonic will in all probability, never implement anything you stated to improve the game. Right now, after all this new MM they have partially implemented, I'm not really sure I want them playing around anymore with the basics of the game. GIGO theory seems to be in action at the moment by Pixonic.
On the positive note, you do have a basis for a new game, maybe you should get some guys and gals together, flesh it out and see if you could be a competitor with a slightly different style of a robot warrior game.
Just a thought.

Just a thought. Yeah, likely true. Well we don't post in some corner of the internet expecting results, yet we post anyways. You have a great point, I suppose if I had my act together and were some software pioneer, I agree... this could easily be the first draft of a battle plan to blow Pix out of the water. I would not drive this to be a complement though, it would be a replacement because that would be my metric to measure success. When they go under, I'd know I'm on the right track. Anyways, back in real life, it'd be nice if some of this were listened to. The users usually know the game pretty well, the feedback from them is usually really valuable.

1. NEW MAPS - I have sent several suggestions.
2. A faster way to clear the request list. Surely a "select all" with the ability to uncheck potential candidates wouldn't be too hard. I have suggested this to Pixonic.
3. It'd be nice to have a teir where Gepard were more than cannon fodder again. Lots of us have them and think they're awesome, but even at max lvl they're pretty easy prey for a Trident/Treb Fury.
4. Stop nerfing everything! Every weapon or bot is available to every player under the same terms. Ruining an effective bot/weapon combination is not the answer, people! Figure out how to beat it!

OK to add to this here are a couple for the Christmas list. On the system tweaks I would like to drop in player level caps on matches for newb balance. On my wish list of things I would love it if I could save a fit. I swap bots and guns constantly trying to find my daily sweet spot. It would be nice to save previous configurations. "Leo long range", "Leo Melee" or "LAncile Magz" just a way to quickly swap a fit that I like. Select your bot and quick fit *poof* Battle! Thanks! Loren

Loren Yes.. nice... a multi tier system would force at least one hangar per tier, allowing several would make complete sense.. so ez. BTW, is there a bigger waste of time in this game than changing out weapons or bots? I would hunt around a little too I bet like you said, but I'm tired of the stupid shuffle when someone you want to shelve, takes the gun you wanted on that guy you just took off the shelf. Pick.. select.. choose.. pick.. select.. unequip... pick.. select.. unequip... change robot... scroll... pick.. select... zzzzzzzzzzz Pretty sure I'm preaching to the choir, this dance blows.

I like most of the OP's suggestions. I would go with 4 tiers (1-3,4-6,7-9,& 10-12). Fixed tiers will always allow for some kind of clubbing, as you can run a hangar optimized for a tier. A combination of hangar score and player elo, with a heavier hangar influence, would be the better solution, as you would see (as it should be) both battles where your hangar is on the strong side, and battles where your hangar is on the weak side.

I do not thik that the matchmaking should be made up that way. It would through anyone at level 20 into the meat grinder...

How about a limited use/cooldown 'flare' or countermeasure option for fair and balanced defense against guided weapons like hydra, spirals, etc?

Try to incorporate some flight simulator/mechwarrior type displays.

I only have one suggestion and I can't believe it's not part of the game already. How about adding a tutorial for new players. Make them play a match against AI explaining beacons and the dominance bar. This would go a long way in helping new people figure out the game basics.

It would be nice if you did not have a limit of how many bots you could have in your hanger, but you can only chose up to five based on what you have bought. For example, I have four slots, but I can choose from any of my six robots I have ready. Once I have used four, I am out of the battle.
