What exactly does membership to a clan mean for someone? I have seen trophy requirements, are there rewards for trophies? I have not seen any messengers in game so does the community use third party apps like Line? How is that convenient for in match coordination?

1. Clans give you the opportunity to play with other people, not Randys. Use strategy. You also now get some gold for squadding up. I think it's 3 gold, for three matches. The update hasn't hit iOS yet. 2. There aren't really any awards for trophies that I'm aware of. But clans members trophies are added together to achieve the clan rating. So more trophies equals higher ranking. 3. Line and discord are two of the many apps that people use to communicate. I'm not sure about how many communicate in game (during battle), but it's possible.

Ok just sharing my experience with what my clan is doing now.
Basically we are just playing for fun, don't really care about trophy count, we only have a requirement of minimum 150 trophies.
We use Line as our chatroom. There we get to know each other, inviting for squads, discussion and advice regarding the game. Also in Line we can use voice group call feature for comms during matches/games.
In the game we constantly squad together, and with the new squad update, it has been a fun and rewarding experience.

Best thing I have ever done is joining a clan, your invested more in the game and want to win for your team mates. Running with a full squad is the most fun you can have in this game, sometimes even when you lose! My stats are now as high as they have ever been with an 80% win rate and learning of each other as you go.

In addition to what was posted above, we share a lot of info on upgrades to take some of the mystery out of the tiers. We use Discord in matches to coordinate and groupme outside of matches to socialize and share insights. We also get to know each other's playing styles and bots so we try to maximize our efforts to win on the battleground. I was having fun before but have enjoyed the game even more since joining a clan. In reading thru the forums, I think some folks think clans are out bullying people in Bronze and are just into clubbing. I can't speak on behalf of all clans, but none in my clan deliberately position their bots to go clubbing in Bronze - we play exclusively in silver and gold tiers to gain silver for upgrades. What we can't prevent is MM doing something quirky or an opponent with an unfortunate upgrade that moved them up.
The matches we talk about the most are going up against other clans on even matches. We like squading with members of other clans as well. We have matches where we crush the opposition, and we have some where we get crushed....but we always manage to find something to joke about.
Cheers!

There are some clans, people would be surprised as to what goes on, and has gone on. We have discussed this or mentioned it before. The origin of the clan, can also give you some insight (potentially, into how they operate - thats all Im sayin on that!

Clans vary hugely, some are great and supportive and all good things. Others are not. I'm generalising, but a lot of "clubbing", and abusing loopholes comes through Clans. Clans are a great commercial construct for Pix, as it encourages competition between groups and pilots pay for the latest bots and faster upgrades etc. So they aren't going away, much as I wish they would.

They have a huge influence on the game - aka clan leaders taking a little vacation to Russia to meet with PIX and have a pow wow.

Playing a game with your clan is a different game. You can afford to specialise and work as a team. The joy of being out gunned by a couple of reds only to have a clan mate come to your rescue (or visa versa), is something you just don't feel in a match with randoms.
