I'd love to see a penalty for not capping a single beacon.
I mean by the end of the game if you have not capped one beacon there should be a repercussion.
Am I right?...

I have to disagree. Often if your fellow blues are in more nimble Mechs, you get beat to beacons by them if you run heavies. It's possible to contribute to captures without getting the scoreboard credit as well. Multiple scenarios come to mind, but I'm sure we can all use our imaginations or experience for examples, to save me writing a novel. I'm very against penalizing/nerfing everything that people hoot and holler about, personally. Luckily this is a public forum for the free exchange of ideas, so, exchange away.
Too long, didn't read version: I vote nay. Ridiculous concept in my opinion.

There have been many matches where I have been unable to cap a beacon, not for lack of trying, but simply because a lack of available beacons to cap. Why should I be punished for something that could be completely out of my control?

why not more credit if the player captured a beacon? + 50k silver or 1 gold for every beacon cap?

I disagree, there are many games where I get a zero. Does this mean I'm not concerned about beacons? No, it is just the opposite. Foe example, if I see someone trying to cap the center beacon on Shinzin (OK total spelling error) I will usually head toward the center on a flanking trajectory helping kill other bots and drawing some of the fire off the guy capping. Did I get credit for a cap? No, but odds are he wouldn't have either without me running support.
The other reason I wind up with zero is because I run heavys and fought to clear the area around a beacon, as I move to cap it here comes Mr. Lightbot from nowhere and caps it just before I can.
Other times the side beacon gets capped before I get there as I make my way toward the enemy spawn where I spend the rest of the match creating chaos and distracting half the enemy. I didn't cap anything but did free up a teammate or two who could usually resulting in a win.
There are also games where the side beacon gets capped before I can get there and the enemy just overruns us. These matches result in me doing everything I can to get to a beacon.
So your saying that in all the situations above, most of which are doing things to help the team, I should be penalized?

Lots of good points all around.
The obvious root of this thinking was the many games that have been lost because of a lack of beacon capping. Many 0's in the beacons column.
But is seems clear to me now - Intention is a hard thing to reward or penalize.

I think it would be wrong to give penalties for these reasons: 1) You were not able to kill any bot 2) You were not able to capture any (enemy) beacon 3) You were not able to capture any (neutral) beacon 4) You were not able to make full 100k damage But then it might make people try out harder if there would be some extra bonuses, not 1 gold per kill or capped beacon but maybe something like: +1 gold per: every: 5 bot killed / 5 beacon capped / 500 000 damage done in one match. But then we are again in small problem. What about low level players? (Or players who change they damaged bot "stealing" kill from enemy team) Maybe (like someone wrote here) "intention is hard thing to reward or penalize" we should give some price for "based in distance you moved in map" if it is way more then normal distance (meaning that person maybe tried to walk/run/jump all the way from one side to the other but failed to cap because of these Fury's get him x times while most his team mates were just bashing enemy bots near spawning point). But then there should be different distances for heavy / medium / light bots, right? Not so easy anymore to think how to change things

So what if you didn't cap beacons, but you guarded - no there is no tent

Completely disagree. Oftentimes, I'm enabling beacon cappers and giving them the ability to do what they do safely.
Completely against this.
Now, a bonus of 50k or something for capping alot besides the Au bonus? Sure, fine, whatever.

I would like to see a penalty on anyone who starts a new thread on: why I hate the new MM or any title that resembles it.
Boiled in oil, nutcracker applied in the appropriate location or any other diabolical thing you can come up with.
