People who haven't played Magic the Gathering need to try it out. The best gaming experience of my entire life. There is simply no equal.
And Thunderkiss, keep in mind they banned JTMS pre-emptively before it was ever in modern. Personally I think modern is strong enough to handle him. And lets be honest, blue could use a little love. ?
Now if they could just unban artifact lands.... ?

To be fair, prices werent too bad if you came in early. I started mtg a bit after beta and still have some of those cards. Prices went up on the secondary market by probably even more than an organ.
