Totally with you there @ boomsplat. I would like to see the return of silver tier - simply because it was offering a different playstyle. The actual system just made a load of robots obsolete - which is basically because the game contains zero balance between weight classes (speed is a bad argument vs splash...). I always played my "highest stuff" - now my 9/10 hangar seems to be in a quite sweet spot - unfortunately I dont have any intention of pushing higher, and Im starting to feel like my dust-gathering Boas look at me in an accusing way :/ I still claim that "stress relieve" is a mediocre argument... theres enough singleplayer games that come with an easy mode. Edit: you may be also correct that the even slower grind for gold lowers motivation. I find myself playing a few games with squadmates per day only. What I make from dmg/beacon rewards has easily reduced by half. Yeah, agree with ya completely as well. I look at the loss of the casual gamer as a problem.....I went from hard core (1400-1800 trophies typical) because I could use my light bots and my heavy bots to casual (400-1000 trophies) with the new MM....and it may turn into occasional (maybe 300 trophies) at best. Like you, I'm thinking that 9/9 to 9/10 seems like a decent space and I have the silver on hand to get my line up from 6/9 to those levels. I'm cranking out the damage and I never cared about win rate....squad play for the social side of gaming kept me more involved and investing time and money....now none of my clan are hardcore (quite a few used to maintain 1500-3000+ trophies) and many are approaching occasional if they haven't quit already. We just can't squad with 3 or more without being thrown into a bunch of 12/12 matches - and we are tired of just swearing while on comms at the situation so we don't do it. I'm waiting for leagues to see if that brings any improvements....if not, then that will be a decision point for a number of folks. If it just formalizes what we are experiencing now, then occasional (just doing daily missions for the gold) will be it. |

I also really prefer faster moving bots such as Geps and very much miss Silver tier. I would run 1 maybe 2 Geps with the rest Boas and Golems at 4/8. Not that Boas are fast mind you lol, but a mix. I have written about my desire and a concept for formalizing tiers in other posts.
Shortly after the new MM I shifted to my best damage hangar with Galahads and heavies (still levels only 4-6) thinking that might win me more matches. Fat chance. All that did was flag Pix MM to up my competition's hangars. Guaranteed win/loss percentages right? For any hangar.
If I am going to get smacked down with any hangar I field, maybe I will try going back down just to play those bots again, because yes they have been collecting dust the last few weeks. It will probably be vicious on me the first 10-20 matches as MM will still think I am running heavies. It will truly be "boomsplat" for me with one hit deaths from the Tridents I run against now lol.

i run a stalker, gary, carnage and a leo and the MM is fine for me. whats all this about having to use all heavies and spend money on gold? Oh, thats just the wimpering of people who suddenly find themselves at the receiving end of the stick they joyfully swung before. Would like to see the return of silver tier - but if your kind of stress relieve is clubbing complete noobs with level 1 bots... Candy Crush maybe instead? (And no, clubbing wasnt reserved to Geps. In bronze tier I couldve clubbed in a Destrier with a sling...) Not really sure how running 3/9 gepards vs lvl 6 big botz is regarded as sealclubbing. I simply like the fast and furious game play they offered. TT is slow and dull in comparison. |

Edit2: and the ability of "tanking down" ones battlerating is completely hilarious. Nearly beats Pix sales...  Haha - the tanking down is a joke. I truthfully tried it once just to see what it was like but tried to avoid dropping out of matches initially - put in virgin light bots and was crushed by 12/12 - put in a 2/1 Cossack and was in newb land. After spending 10 minutes jumping around having fun for 3-4 matches with the 2/1 Cossack Punisher, it got old quick. And then some H10/12 players drop in and crushed all of us in two matches and that was that. I did a quick drop out for loss on 2 matches and then said the hell with it. I'd rather just lose the old fashioned way with my H6/9 vs H12/12 match ups. Screwing others just is a crappy thing to do. Those folks who go on 50 game losing streaks intentionally with match drop outs are stone cold. I'd rather buy a Rhino for $60 thru the Pixo sale than do match drops as a key strategy just to run my geps again. |

I have leveled my bots fairly evenly all are 6/7. I have 3 heavies and 1 medium (about to be 2 medium in 240 more gold). I regularly am paired with and against bots level 8-10 with weapons ranging from 8 -12. Maybe its karma I now know how the Iraqi army felt. However it is certainly not enjoyable. It is not using low level (4 and under) bots that is causing me to be overmatched I dont even have any in that range atm. this is exactly how it is for me, my highest bot is 6/8 and I'm regularly put up against lvl8-10 bots with lvl 8-12 weapons. Also I agree heavy bots are boring, running a capture the flag game with bots that are too slow to get to a flag to capture it...def needs to be some balancing between bot classes to keep light/medium viable |

I run a plasma rhino, a thunder piñata Leo, a trident pin Leo, and a thunder taran boa, all bots and weaps level 6/7. I still see the same level enemies that I fought before the update, except with less Natasha campers. TBH I really don't understand the whining over the new MM. However, I have tried to join low level matches with 4 spiral destriers but got matched with griffins and stalkers, maybe thats why ppl are complaining, they can't seal club anymore?

I think in the end what most are lamenting is the fact that (a) the game just got super competitive, and (b) people expect to get less gold on account of the increased competitiveness.
I've always liked the fact that the game was not PTW; sure you can pay RM but you always knew that with a bit of patience you can save enough gold for that Fury or Brit bot.
Now, that's probably not so easy to do when you're wins have plummeted.

I have 4/9 gep, 5/7 boa, 5/7 carnage, and other 2 seats are changing with: another gep, 4/7 boa, 4/7 golem, 6/6 Grif. All in all the hangar does not have anything above L9, with average level of guns and bots at 6. I've tried removing both geps and carnage as well (then average drops to 5 or so with nothing above 7). No luck anyway... I'm seldom facing anything below 10/10. Kinda hard to justify it or explain what the mm is "thinking" there. I do have the dreaded 50% win rate now (lowest ever). Clubbing was never an option for me, so it's rather hard to miss it  |

L4/5 Boas with avg 6/7 weapons occasionally had a L4 Gepard with L6/7 weapons too ... I faced equivalent hardware in the old system but my win rate was 80% ... I was often the top scorer , sometimes with beacons too .. I don't consider this cheating or clubbing - I saw yamantau regularly Now I face >L8 heavies (Shield bots) with L8/9/10 weapons - I can't run gepards ... 2 shots = dead If I am on the losing team I am often top scorer - on the winning side bottom 3 - there is something still pretty screwy going on It has got a bit better recently but I have also bought a few Griffins to boost my damage potential I miss the brick fighting  |

The new way is "Tanking" and getting minimal damage/ playing 1 bot to collect event currency. Clubbing looks classy vs this BS. |

Running a full 3/9 Gepard hangar against a heavy bot that just got out of bronze and does not know what a beacon is, is clubbing. A 3/9 Gepard WAS Bronze. That's just under the HB/Last Stand cutoff. Well, it was. You saw Yamantau, you had well armed mediums, no shortage of heavies and thanks to rubber banding some of those heavies had good (I.e. meta) weapons. Some of those heavies, the *only* way for a Gepard to effectively kill them was aphids. That was high Bronze. I played there a lot before the change, it was varied, fast and violent, with no squads of Silver tier trophy-maximizing clans. |

Apparently for you those matches *are* competitive because you find a way to make it work JUST well enough that you don't sink down to easier opposition. So congratulations! You're a winner! I don't think so Slow. I'm down to 30% War Robots at this point. Every single match has been against maxed out bots on Red team. It's gotten to the point where I don't give a d@mn anymore.
