I have a Spiral Patton. I have to admit, it's a ton of fun to pilot in my current skill level. It's nice to be able to shoot around corners and over obstacles. I also have been employing the technique of firing the missiles in sequence, instead of using the big red button.
Red pilots don't seem to know what to do with a steady stream of spirals coming in. It takes away the reload pause, allowing for an almost constant stream of damage.
I'm surprised more people don't use this.

tonnes of people do what you do. but with aphids. and when your strength goes up to mainly medium bots and heavy bots, most opponents will know how to get cover from your missiles

I should add, I'm not a camper. I'm always moving around, working for angles. ?

will it be the same for lvl 1 at spirals? I'd think so. Just less damage per volley.

I remember when I used to run spiral Pattons. Good times, easy damage, relatively safe. I kinda miss it.
Keep in mind that as a support bot its not terribly effective long term. Your team would usually be better served with close range weapons which put you in harm's way. I'm not saying don't use them, I'd just recommend not running the spiral bot first, but maybe save it until you're down a few bots and have hopefully knocked out a few of your opponents.

The reason why people dont use this is cause of the DPS, i mean like its good in the lower tiers but later on quite literally useless

Don't waste too much time upgradING them as you will shelve them as you grow. Ide say lvl6 max on spirals. After that, they have nearly zero use.

I have quad L8 spirals which was useful, but only back in the old MM days when I can choose go lower tiers. Now with the new MM, I can find no use for it...not even good enough to tickle opponent bots

Eventually aphids are the next step, being even though accurate and having 1/2 range are being fairly compensated by ca. 3x damage...overall homing missile choice for the day

It's certainly not a bot I lead with. And since I'm saving up for the 5th slot, the Aphids can wait. I'm basically running 6/6 bots. So they're still useful at this point.

Lots of fun in general. Only the occasional killing field, and that's usually because of drop-outs.

I guess I have to re-do my complete hangar to get better matches...

The Boa and the Patton are still level 5, but I'll be leveling them up soon.

It's funny, some folks react really strongly to a spiral Patton. I had one guy in a griffin practically crawling up my rear end trying to kill me. Unfortunately for him, he missed the Leo nearby that wiped him out. And after all that, my Patton was still standing. Minus a spiral, but still kicking. ?

Yes, it's almost useless in higher tiers. Even if you are moving around with it, you are making it easier for enemies to advance their position because they're not afraid of spirals. And that makes your whole team have to play more defensively. Not a good thing!

It's even funnier when your whole squad aims for the same target with spiral pattons

It's even funnier when your whole squad aims for the same target with spiral pattons I fought a Yama battle in silver where all the opponents opened with ranged bots heavy on spirals. 3 were clan members, the rest randoms. The clan guys always hit the same target with their ranged fire, and soon enough the randoms started to catch on too. It wasn't pretty. A lot of players use weapons that are good from a 1-on-1 perspective. But if you can get concentration of fire at range, it changes things considerably.

The Patton was good (IMO) a while back. It has potential, but it gets no love from PIX, and is glass. So you hide ans sling Spirals for a while, or go out, sling some Aphids, kill a bot, and then you get killed. Disposable Heros!
