Guys, there are some stuff I have to read or listen again and again, and now seems to be the time to make my point.
-> I just had a teamfight with my clan. We are in the top100, were even in the top20 at good times, but since over the half of the clan are, or were (after recent update), dedicated sealclubbers, we lost some ranking over the last week.
But still in the top100, we are holding. Some players, like me, never ran a gep mag hangar, and we are are adapting the changes quite well, winning our matches against other top ranking clans. I can easily hold my winrate around 60% - 70%. The seal clubber fraction on the other side is mourning and complaining because their winrate dropped from almost 100% to around 50%. Its really a joke, those who carelessly outgunned other people with hyper-overpowered weapons (and who would always do it again given the opportunity) are now complaining about fairness and that the game is getting ruined!
Really, all this complain about matchmaking, or moneygreedy developers or the unbeatable tridents or aphids, or the campers... it makes me angry that the people complain before using their brain!
1. Matchmaking - I am just happy about the new matchmaking. I had my time in the gold tier when it was all about a safari show with rhinos. That became boring and I experimented with different tactics and built up a second hanger, and than the third hangar, and than the forth hangar - until I got a hangar for every tier with 60% - 80%. I was switching between low gold and silver when the new update kicked in. After the initial losses I began to merge my different hangars, sorting out the most suitable bots for my primary hangar and now upgrading them to the same level. But even in their underdevoloped state (my weakest bot is a lvl 6 galahad) my bots fullfill their roles. Still, I keep the different hangars to bringing in new bots and strategies. I am happy about the new matchmaking because it brought back the challenge to me. I havent played so much in the last mounths like I played in the last week. Before the new matchmaking, things got started to be boring again. I dont play primarly to win, but to learn and to get challenged. While get hurted, I thrilled to develop new strategies to adapt with the new situation.
2. Moneygreedy developers - I never spent money on the game, but within less than year I earned 5 slots, gold bots worth 15k gold and gold weapons worth another 12k. I have a job and a family and cannot afford it to play too much. But if the developers would ask one day politely for money to keep the game great, I would pay it because I like the way they work.
3. The overpowered tridents & aphids -
Do you know what I hate the most about the tridents? That they seem to have a magnet and everybody is running into their range! The best counter for every weapon is the 「fluffernutter」ing cheap brain! Situational awareness! Cover! Corner-peeking! Wall-hugging! Look before you act! Why are there powerful and cheap weapons with ranges over 600m? For what is the jump drive of the rdb griffin good for? But first, for everybody who complains about the trident fury: really, stop running head-on to them if there are more than one standing alone and you sit in a brawler. The maps are huge enough and full of cover. Use it. Dont let these slow-motion douchebags dictate the terrain.
The same for aphid, even easier. Simply wall-hugging, a fast bot, knowing how to count to 10, or a well-timed jump with your griffin. And if you have a bot with an ancile, than just keep dancing in the rain.
I hope my opinion can contribute to the general discussion.
