I have searched the heck out of this and could only find posts from a couple years ago with no answers so I hope I am not beating a dead horse. Why do team mates shoot each other when going for beacons? Sometimes I get they are trying to alert you to something, makes sense. But especially at the beginning of a game, depending on the map I will start with a beacon runner and it often seems to piss off meds and jumping heavies that I am running around taking beacons. They unload everything the got even though Im 100M ahead. I dont try to race my own team mates, but if you are fielding a light, its to try and get a win for the team by getting the remote beacons. I leave the middle beacons for the tanks until I put my own out there.
Am I missing some kind of communication that I havent learned yet?

I always assume they feel they know best and are trying to direct you to the beacon they want captured first. I usually ignore them as heavies may know how to brawl but they do not know how a light should fight.
As for whether the central beacon should be captured furst, I find it is very sutustionally dependant, and is most heavily influenced by the actions of the other teams.

Patton pilots do this all the time in the lower tiers. They drive a slow bot and shoot others in the back for being faster to the nearest beacon.
It's weird psychology. The team member wants what you want. Never mind that there are four other beacons out there waiting for him. In DC, everyone goes left, no one goes for the beacon on the right. Ditto with Shenzhen. In Canyon, there's a beacon behind the corner spawn point that no one notices and they compete for the one further away.

I sometimes trigger my weps when I'm turning to scan the competition. On long walks with a plasma bot, sometimes I'll get bored and just pop off a couple of rounds to idle away the 30 minute walk on Yama. If I happen to shoot a blue, sorry.
I was shot a few times yesterday when I was waddling down the ramp in a fury on the platform spawn site on Springfield. A Gareth wanted to get by so a couple of knocks with his taran let me know to move to the side.
Oh well...good thing ammo eexpenditure is free in this game.

Usually they're upset because they won't get the beacon capture, hurting their chance of getting five gold.

I've had people shoot me as a 'come with me' signal. I said 'OK' by shooting them back. Those times generally worked out very well.
Most of the time I have no idea what teammates mean when they shoot you, other than 'I have something happening in my head that I want to act out'.

Somtimes In the beginning I shoot one or two rockets at a Beacon I will walk to Somtimes i can see that someone of my team have tunnel vision or they are too much Concentrated on the enemy in front of them I shoot about 5 rockets at enemy direction to warn or alert is an enemy about 400-600m behind or the side When there are no remaining enemies left I shoot at everything that moves It's just a reaction Somtimes i shoot to see some fireworks or warm-up Yeah i have encountered team mates that shoots me in the back

You are lucky you were not around when the game's earlier stages were. In updates on the war robots wiki, one update says it removed friendly fire. ill put it here if you peeps want to see. Update 0.5.0 Date: 2014-08-23 What’s new Friendly fire damage is disabled.
Improvements are displayed in Hangar. An option to buy a new improvement if the current improvement hasn’t been finished. The cost of warranty repair is increased. Some bugs of the map are fixed, i.e. it is not possible to get inside the buildings, bridges and other objects. Optimisation. warrobots.wikia.com/wiki/Updates

Also this is the only way of trying to communicate in solo play.

I agree, it is annoying. I'm a free agent most games and I have no idea what they're supposed signals mean. There is no handy, dandy chart to refer to. I don't have a copy of every clans playbook either.
I just accept it as part of the game these days. No damage, no foul...unless you are obnoxious about it. I will see who you are, follow you around, and blast you the entire match. I'm nice like that.

it really bugs me when i'm trying to sneakily cap a beacon with a light robot and a jackass teammate of mine keeps firing weapons at my back making it obvious to the reds where I am and where I am going.

You sacrifice a lot to put a light robot out there in damage and hp. It is done mainly to cap beacons.

The battle starts with me in a fast bot on the far left, so I immediately run to the left beacon. Someone's firing guns at the beacon so I give a couple pulses to let them know 'yeah, I already got it', but they don't stop. Constant fire all the way and I finally look after getting the beacon and it's a Doc that's following me anyways. Then I head out but the Doc still travels to it even though it's already blue. What?!
The only signal I understand is a bot firing towards the beacon they intend to get. If someone's already getting it in front of you then go to another.
I don't see how it works to fire at a beacon for someone else to get. I mean, if they don't know to get a beacon then the fire isn't going to make them suddenly realize 'oh right, head to that'. If they do know then firing is redundant. The best I can imagine is not being sure a bot is heading to a beacon so fire a little in the hopes the bot will fire at the beacon also to confirm it's going there (although some bots can't signal, like an aphid gep).
My favorite is when there's 2 other fast bots and they immediately claim the left and right beacons, leaving me in a suicide beeline for the center. When all 3 turn blue at the same time... beautiful.

But you know, I'm really pissed at my teammates if I pilot a light robot, walk towards a side beacon and 2-3 blues are trying to push me out of the way. It's counterproductive if all the blues are homing in on a beacon that has no special strategic value.

Name of the game is keep the beacons or you're going to lose the domination bar which will mean you will lose the game I haven't got a problem with a fast robot getting the beacons but if I'm fighting a heavy with a heavy and I'm close to the beacon then I deserve that Beacon common courtesy if I win it

I always liked how when the Fujin and Raijin came out everyone fired on them, congratulating those pilots for being able to have them. It was such a touching display. I still see it happening today by the lower level pilots. A tradition carried on, make you all warm and fuzzy inside.

on non clan matches a) light on light, they try to distract you hoping you'll stop and turn to see what's going on b) benevolent case: small screen where the ability (jump, most especially) and upper weapons buttons are very close. I know it happens annoyingly often for me with the Griffin. c) signal, as someone said before... but in a full random team it doesn't make sense, people wouldn't know what you are trying to signal d) annoyance: you see a zenit noricum Natasha in Shenzen and you are gently trying to tell the guy to change bot. in clan matches a) hazing the new member
