I'm trying to plan my hangar build for future gold play, and thinking about my mid-ranger. Carnage will be the bot choice, but what about weapons? I currently have two L7 Zeus, which I run on the L7 Carnage for silver. I have two Tridents, one of which I'm leveling, the other is L9.
The rest of my gold hangar will be Plasmahad, right-hand smack Galahad, Plasma Griff, DB Griff.
The Zeus seems to work well in silver, but with the huge number of shield bots in gold, I'm thinking Trident with the splash damage may be the better choice.
What say you?

You could do dual Zeus/Trident. The higher ROF of the Zeus helps keep pressure on Red while the Trident reloads.

If you're on iOS I would run the Zeus for as there are many Ancilots on the battlefield.

Well i have the same set up, I am leaning towards Tridents because i have gotten cornered by too many shield bots and Tridents would help take care of that

I have tried both on iOS with mostly 7/9 bots. I found that the trident just doesn't pump out enough damage--you are far better off putting the tridents on a fury. The Zeus is great but, as you mentioned, the shield bots will give you trouble. The best solution I could come up with was to run serious shield bot hate in the rest of my hangar (mostly db and Rdb setups) so that I could drop the Zeus carnage in when appropriate.
As a quick note, the thunder carnage is a boat load of fun.
Happy hunting!

My opening Bot is a 9/9 Zues carnage and I love it. My hanger is ~9/10 so it's a touch behind my Heavies.

Zeus Carnage in open map can get you a reliable 500K damage+

I was under the impression that carnage was not a Gold/TT robot. Is this an incorrect assumption?

Zeus Carnage is a nice Top Tier bot and is an alternative to the Zeus Fury

Zeus/zeus. At least that's what I'd rather not see, given a choice.

If you're on iOS I would run the Zeus for as there are many Ancilots on the battlefield. The Zeus can't penetrate the physical shield of the Lancelot. Or do you mean Ancile? I haven't seen that many more anciles than before the buff. Still more physical shields than anciles around.

I run both Zeus & Trident and I like the Zeus for its quick reload time. It's a bit of a guessing game at times which one will better suit me for the day, Zeus or Trident.

Well, IMO, they are both good. Each has strengths and weaknesses. I'd say the Trident has the edge in the Meta on Android in the matches I have been in, but only just barely. Carny is, indeed, an outstanding Gold Tier bot. Hell, even dbl Thunders is still a kick 「bum-bum」 short range option.
I would go with what I had in inventory and is most leveled up, first, then with what counters the most of my enemies, second. If you see more anciles, Zeus it up. If you see more physical shields, Trident hoooooo!
TBH, when I notice the meta is getting tilted to Mid-Range, I will run both at the same time, Carn Zeus and Carn Trident.

The physical shield on the Lance was always a bit less than it should be, and with the slight nerf, using a Zeus comparably leveled is not a bad plan... besides, easy to flank a Lance in a Carny if he is fixated on anyone else.

Not sure, as his argument would make sense mainly for robots running an ancile but no physical shield.
An Ancilot as a shielded robot is one of the robots that is strong against Zeus. Try breaking its shield with say 2 Magnums and a Taran from a Galahad. And then consider that a 2-Zeus Carnage has less than half the DPS. If we really see a rising number of Ancilots, then we'll probably also see a rising number of DB setups because they can tear down the shield and damage an Ancilot with splash.

Honestly, having started to seen the Ancelots population jump, that Zuess Carnage is more useful than the DB settup. The carnage can put flanking or midranged damage into the Ancelot. An Ancelot doesn't have *that much* damage output, but having the damage output of a Plasmahad next to you is still bad news bears. Getting shield and side damage in before it's on top of you is a really big deal, and since the physical shields are ablative any plinking adds up. A DB will drop the shield, but you have to explicitly focus- fire one of them down to take it out. The only *good* way to pop the shield is thunders, and that's just because they get Zues like ranges against an Ancile.

Ironically the TT Fury is being pushed down to my level due to the Ancilot, so I am seeing an uptick in TT Furies.
