Tried 30 minutes ago (Android) just or fun, switch back to "seal clubbing" configuration: low bots / high weapons he he he as in good old days!
Can you imagine that you with 10-11 lvl weapons vs. newbies (i've checked reds - 23,24,25 user levels, lol) Every battle with stats: 5-10 (!!!) kills + high damage
P.S. In my opinion, old "clubbing" MM is unfair. Try put yourself at their (newbies) place.

How many games? I found that games in the morning (european times) are often very rubberbandy. But yes, my win rate also went back up to 70% in the last couple of days.
I do hope Pix has changed the MM. It was to be expected that it would take some trial and error to get the MM right - maybe we're on the next iteration.

What is the use of the MM change when seal clubbing is reinstated? That was the one big broken feature that required fixing. Here's a pic of a Level 30 MagGep guy and level 2,3,and 4 players MM put him in with.

wow duckdecoy, is it REAL picture, not photoshop?!?! 30 lvl vs. 4 and even 2 (!!!!) level? I can't believe it ... Real screenshots from the same game, cropped and resized to fit in a small graphic for easy viewing. The matchmaking is crazy isn't it? I've been stomped before by a Level 30 Gep when I was at Level 2 in another account so the MM is not accidental.

Would be funny if they changed the MM so that it starts with tiers and then adjusts you by win rate (you know what they should have done in the first place) but made it so anybody who won their way out of bronze couldn't return.

They changed MM with the release of the Lunar event as there were many complainers about the old one based off Elo and there were people abusing it through tanking their win rate and damage.

To fix clubbing is easy. Put a cap on lvl difference between bot and weapon of 4. So a lvl 1 gep can only have lvl 5 weapons. Problem solved.

The problem with a cap like this is it discourages people from progressing which in turn can reduce the overall income of PIX. Better to leave it as possible to progress but create a scalable limit such as weapons become cap at lowest natural weapon level in the match +2 or 3. So if I join a match where my weapons are level 12 and the rest of the other players are 1, my weapon is treated as level 3. But if I have say 6 and am thrown in a match With all 12, they would be treated as level 9 weapons. This still encourages leveling but reduces impact of high level weapons over newer players.

a) without seeing the weapons of the guy, it's hard to understand what went down. I suspect he mounted all level 1 weapons (which would explain the relatively low level damage). in that situation, the MM sees a light level 1 with level 5 weapons as best bot (the cossack with Tulumbas) and acts accordingly.. but of course a 1/1 maggep can still trash just about anything a low level players can muster.
b) a cap differential isn't a bad idea, either in player level or bot/weapons level. Let's say 10 levels: no one at level 20 meets anyone under level 10 and especially the level 30 Gepard clubbers don't meet anyone under level 20. I don't see why that would discourage progress considering that level progress is not something you can stop (Xp are awarded automatically)
as for bot/weapons, again, why that should hamper development? In fact, essentially, it is already in place if weapons level are weighted higher than bot levels, as it seems. However, that is actually useless, as a 4/8 Gepard (or equivalent) will still trash newbies if they have to face it.
Hence, I'd like a player level block mechanism, in case. Actually, naybe even stricter, as 5 to 7 levels differential maximum. It automatically disappear once a player reaches 23/5 level and by then you should have learned to fend for yourself or been able to buy some decent countermeasure.

Never saw bronze opponents back then Funken, 4/12 gep drivers like you and I are responsible for all the bad things that went on in the old days and now we can only complain and wail in grief at the feet of the mighty heavy bot drivers. I've learned to ignore it but tiring rapidly of the few jokers continuing to post about the lamentation of seal clubbers and gep drivers getting their just desserts.....most of the complaints I see are coming from a broad range of players because of the incompetent execution of the new MM by Pixo. I think I probably had a few bronze matches when the old MM rubber banded to pull in players, but I never went out of my way to play noobs as it was mindless. But i know there were idiots and clans that clubbed in bronze - I can't defend the practice at all....and we all get tarnished by the same brush because we liked our geps. one day the geps will rise again to compete - hopefully in custom matches or leagues. It will be fun to get back into the 50+ kph range again instead of the 30's. Cheers!

There have been MM server issues, so dont get excited. I know that - I'm referring to custom matches and league play possibilities of being able to pull my geps out and do 6v6 clan battles. I edited my post to clarify it was a broad statement, and one that was not addressing you.

You're probably a nice person IRL which is why you're feeling sensitive about the gep thing but it is not necessary to take on the burden of all gep clubbers' guilt. The true jerks in the game probably arent even lurking/posting in this forum. FWIW the MM feels like it has changed again (for the better) after yesterday's blackout. I'm hammered less and playing with others of similar competence. I hope it's working out for you too.

I ran a 4/12 gep 4/9 medium bot hangar and always played in silver... Never saw bronze opponents back then I ran the same and never played bronze. I was always in silver and faced everything, although furies were rare. No way to club with my hangar in silver, since most of the bots I faced could waste my geps one on one. The britbots, leos, and griffs would melt my bots in under 5 seconds unless I found cover quickly enough.

one day the geps will rise again to compete - hopefully in custom matches or leagues. It will be fun to get back into the 50+ kph range again instead of the 30's. I dunno if they need to rise again, I have one in my hanger most of the time, 5/9ish, even with the nerf to HP, even with the nerf to Aphids, some battles I manage to score BIG on damage while in it for almost the entire match. Other matches it goes splat before it barely makes a dent in anyone. Totally depends on the map, and who I'm up against, but an Aphid Gep is still a VERY usable bot, worth having one around IMHO, for when that strategy is appropriate. It's just not the total dominator it once was (now that you can't work the system in to facing only other lights/mediums). This isn't the old Gep clubbing. Running face first into as many reds as you can isn't how it's done anymore. Use cover just right, team up with other, heavier bots, bounce from one mini battle to the next, assisting other blues across the battle field, turning the tide in their 1on1 battles, while grabbing beacons. A lot of people undersell the speed with which a Gep can bring 3 extra Aphids to a fight... yes, the Patton has an extra Aphid.... and a whole lotta good it's doing 600 meters behind the front line! I'd really like to get a Stalker to do similar with, but I don't want to burn 2 slots on the same strategy... so the Gep would get put in moth balls... hard to decide, having 50% more firepower is nice, but several times in recent matches, stealth woulda been great!
