So what exactly is a Leo capable of?
Well...
About that.
So, I just played a match on PowerPlant. Blue team dropped on the hill behind D and C beacons. First drop, L7-9/8/8/7 Thunder/Pinata Leo. That's 165k health points. Match began, I started lumbering toward center. Took fire from a Zenoricum Natasha, which hurt a little but not enough to matter.
First enemy contact was a Stalker pilot who was pretty good. He wasn't paying attention to me, however, as he was focused primarily on the Gareth that he (correctly) knew was far more dangerous to his Stalker than I was. Still, I sent a salvo his way to help steer him into a corner...where the Gareth cornered him and hit him hard. The Stalker ducked past me, I slapped his butt with my Thunder as he snuck around a corner. He grabbed D beacon but was promptly finished off by my teammates and D was retaken.
I headed for B using the buildings as cover, but...suddenly realized I was taking heavy close-range rocket fire. Turned around and found a full-health DB Griffin who had jumped in on me. He was less than 100m away and had nowhere to go...and I wasn't dead. And I still had three full Pinatas and a charged L9 Thunder...he went down, and I still had 45k health left. That was a FULL broadside from a pristine Griffin, which took me by surprise (yeah, I was careless), and he didn't even knock off a weapon, let alone kill me.
Moving on...
Continued on my way, past B beacon (which was already blue) and decided to use my remaining health to poke Red spawn and see what kind of hornet's nest I could kick up.
Funny thing was, nobody seemed to be paying any attention to me except for that one Griffin. And then I reached Red spawn, and Blue team was there...we blasted them apart. This was the end result:
So, my score wasn't remarkably high. Four kills, 365k damage...unremarkable.
Except that was all with only one bot. Which took over 75% damage within the first two minutes, and dealt ALL of its own damage after that.
No, Leo certainly isn't invincible, and I've actually dealt more damage in a single battle using only a Gareth. Cracked 400k on Springfield once using only plasma Gary.
But Gareth costs 1250 Au, and was armed with WSP weapons.
Leo costs 1.7M Ag, and was armed with Ag weapons.
Don't underestimate the old grey lion. She's rusty and slow, but she can take a royal beating and still leave her enemy in pieces.
I retired my Leo squadron months ago, when I bought my first Carnage and fell in love. But, I'm thinking it's time to give the old lady another chance. At the end of the day, Leo is one of the coolest-looking bots in the game. And she's just plain fun to use.
If you don't have one, I strongly recommend getting one. Not the easiest bot to use, but...Leo always has a few surprises left in her.

Ron
